Delighted to see our paper "Lines in the Landscape" published. Thanks to @MikePeacock86 for organising a great workshop for ditch "experts" a few years ago in Liverpool. They discussions there led to this publication. It highlights the importance of ditches in our landscapes.

Delighted to have been involved in this research project. The team included the DCU Insight Centre, Botanical Environmental Consultants and Proveye.ie. The ML method produces highly accurate habitat maps on grassland, peatlands, saltmarsh and dune systems.

Planting trees on peatlands leads to more GHG emissions then those trees sequester. 30cm of peat stores up to 327 tonnes of carbon per ha. Forestry = 145 T Ca per Ha. It does not make sense to plant trees on peatland as a climate change solution. @MHealyRae @agriculture_ie
