Just gonna put this out there:
"shave a few minutes off that task" is legit English, a metaphor that means to reduce time slightly. It's not a typo of "save a few minutes". Someone keeps logging Trailhead tickets for this. Sorry, friend, it's intentional and it's staying as is.

That being said, we do always welcome your feedback on Trailhead badges, and appreciate when you point out our typos! Just, maybe if you log the same request a bunch of times over the course of many months, and it doesn't change, maybe don't keep logging tickets for it?
