The post-Cold War order has been dying for some time. Trump will tear it down but what comes next could be better or worse. It’s is up to all of us to make it better. That’s what the book is about.
In case you missed it, you can now re-watch our final #US Strategy Group event. Markus Jaeger, Claudia Schmucker, @matburrows@StimsonCenter & @JMuellerKaler discussed how 🇩🇪 & 🇪🇺 can reduce vulnerabilities in view of a 🇺🇸-🇨🇳 great power competition. 📺👇 on.dgap.org/440BzaO
My honor to work with Bob Manning on the scenarios. Unfortunately much of the scenarios are somber reading. While the peace talks continue, we thought as likely a scenario would be a frozen conflict. Even with a ceasefire there’s a danger that it does not lead to a settlement.

As one of the authors, I want to stress the opportunity for the US to bolster its soft power at the same time working in its own self interest by inoculating the almost half of the world’s population who are unvaccinated.
There's a lot of second and third effects from a war scenario, some hitting the US directly. Best if there is a real effort to find an agreement with Russia and Ukraine.
