Yesterday I was honored to moderate a very interesting and informative panel titled « Opportunities and Challenges of Artificial Intelligence: A Call for Global Legislative Governance » at the Global Parliamentary Forum during the Spring Meetings of the World Bank and the IMF in Washington DC.
What became very clear during our debates was that in order to decrease inequalities we must make sure that countries have access to the necessary infrastructure and we must guarantee their data ownership.
If we think of AI as the combination of computational power and big data it will create predictions - not decisions - as the final decisions need to stay in the hands of humans because it is us who are responsible in the end.
🇱🇺 Gëschter hat ech d’Chance fir e ganz interessanten an informativen Panel mam Titel « Opportunities and Challenges of Artificial Intelligence: A Call for Global Legislative Governance » am Global Parliamentary Forum während de Fréijoersversammlungen vun der Weltbank an dem IWF zu Washington DC ze moderéieren.
Wat während eisen Debatten ganz kloer gouf, war, datt fir Ongläichheeten ofzebauen, musse mir dofir suergen, datt d'Länner Zougang zu der néideger Infrastruktur hunn a mir mussen garantéieren datt se weider Accès zu hiren Daten hunn.
Wa mir un AI denken als d'Kombinatioun vu Rechenkraaft a Big Data wäert se Prognosen kreéieren - net Entscheedungen - well déi definitiv Entscheedunge mussen an den Hänn vu Mënschen bleiwen, well et mir sinn déi um Enn verantwortlech sinn.
