Happy Hump Day ✌️A Bernoulli Hump is a surface bulge a boat makes if speed vs depth is not managed properly. It may be less than an inch high, but modern ASW radar can detect the disturbance from many miles away. Run silent, RUN DEEP.

Harvesting just one kidney from 20% of America’s politicians would give a new kidney to EVERY SINGLE PERSON currently on the transplant waiting list.
If Elon Musk paid my ultra-millionaire wealth tax, we could pay for child care for all three and four year olds in America.

"It all started when they hit us back."
8 red states have redrawn. Only 1 blue state has responded. We cannot afford this cowardice.

I’ve had a number of conversations with folks inside and outside government about the current situation with Anthropic, and here is what I believe to be true: — As we know, Anthropic publicly released its Mythos class models earlier this week under the commercial name Fable. — Fable is Mythos with guardrails. But if those guardrails fail, then you’ve exposed Mythos and its advanced cyber capabilities to people who shouldn’t have them. (Keep in mind that Anthropic itself widely promoted the idea that Mythos was a cyberweapon and needed to be regulated as such. They asked for government regulation of Mythos and championed the guardrails on Fable. If there is a vulnerability — big or small — it is Anthropic’s responsibility to patch.) — A highly credible trusted partner of both Anthropic and the USG who was testing Fable came forward with a jailbreak of those guardrails. The Admin asked Dario to fix the jailbreak or de-deploy the model. Dario refused. — In their blog post, Anthropic defended its decision by saying the jailbreak isn’t serious. That is not what the trusted partner and the USG believe; nor is that kind of minimizing language consistent with Anthropic’s brand as the AI safety company. It’s difficult to fathom how they could claim a jailbreak allowing operability of a cyber weapon could be defined as not “serious.” — In the past, Anthropic has always said that safety must be top priority and taken super seriously. In this case, Anthropic prioritized the continued offering of the consumer model over safety. — In reaction, the Admin issued the export control. The Admin did this reluctantly. It’s been very surprised that Anthropic hasn’t wanted to cooperate with a reasonable safety request (ie fixing the jailbreak issue). Anthropic’s reaction is very much at odds with their branding and ethos as a safe AI research community. — The Admin’s hope now is that Anthropic remediates the safety issue, the export control is lifted, and Fable goes back into general release. The Admin wants all of this to happen as soon as possible. It is frankly bewildered that Anthropic hasn’t wanted to comply with safety requests that it previously said were its highest priority. — Those trying to misdirect and tie this action to the prior DoW/Anthropic issues are wrong. The Admin values Anthropic’s technical capabilities and feels that this issue, while serious, should be easily resolved. The ball is in Anthropic’s court.

Harvard alone has that much in their coffers right now.
Brad, a 5% tax on Elon's trillion net worth would literally pay for free college and trade school for every American. And with the market's growth, he still would be worth over a trillion dollars! You don't think that's worth it?

Who's more likely to have made the post?
I was encouraged by the President’s nomination of Jay Clayton to be the Director of National Intelligence. Mr. Clayton is known to the Senate, and his distinguished prior service, overseeing sensitive financial investigations as SEC Chair and leading consequential national security prosecutions as U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, suggests he has the intellect, temperament, managerial capacity, discretion, and experience required by statute for this position. I look forward to the Senate’s consideration of his nomination.

It seems there is an entirely different set of rules for Republicans and Democrats.

Is it better or worse than: * A BJ & Cigar den * A racist beer summit & dronery locale * A cocaine infested nursing home
This is what Trump's done to the people's house: A third of it is rubble. Another third is a cage match. What a metaphor.

When two professions that lack common sense collide, humor is the victim.
Kristen Volpe was a student teacher at an Elementary school in Washington. One of her students closed her laptop while she was on an online chat with a group of people So, "jokingly" in her Snapchat group, she asked if she "should shoot the student". Snapchat AI flagged the comment and notified police which then investigated her, leading to a charge of disorderly conduct. The school system would not allow her to finish her student teacher program, and charges were ultimately dropped after she completed a deferred prosecution program. Is this enough? Should there have been heavier consequences? Or was this just a bad taste of a joke...

OMG they are doing it again.
I’m a straight white dude, a veteran who grew up in a military family on farms in the Midwest. Moved to Texas on a scholarship from the Army. I drive a truck, listen to country music, and love football. I dare anybody to call me UnAmerican, and I’m fully behind Talarico.

If there's anyone that knows what weaponization is, it's Barb.
We already have a process for determining whether accusers are credible. It’s called a trial. And a jury already decided they believed E Jean Carroll. THIS is weaponization. nytimes.com/2026/05/27/us/po… via @NYTimes
