Bit of an announcement Tomorrow marks my last day as CTO of @solstrategies It's been an absolutely incredible ride. From starting @orangefincrypto , to coming onto SOL Strategies, to being the first Solana focused company ever to get listed on Nasdaq, to being the staking provider for an ETF, to so much more, it's been an experience I wouldn't trade for the world. None of it would be possible without the amazing team I had the pleasure of interacting with. This includes @m_hbbrd , @Ehrls15 , @AfroMonkey404 , @coderigo , @TrilliumJohn and more that aren't on X, but appreciate them just as much. Thank you to all of you for being amazing to work with. Additionally, I wanted to give a shout out to the @darklakefi team that have already brought such amazing energy and ideas to the company in @vitorpy , @DuchessofSOL , @yesjess , and the rest of the team. I'm super excited to see what the rest of you build! Lastly, as far as the team goes, I'd like to also give a public shout out to @LeahWald , @TonyGuoga , and @moeadham . Thank you for bringing me on board, taking a chance on me, and teaching me many things I'll take with me for the rest of my life. In addition to the team, I'd like to shout all the investors and ecosystem teams I have had the pleasure of working with. There's far too many to name, and because I don't want to risk forgetting to include one, I won't name any. But please know if I have ever talked to you, I appreciate you 🙏. As for what's next, I'll continue to be involved in SOL Strategies as a consultant, helping to ensure everything operates smoothly and providing help in any place I can. Additionally, I plan on trying to find a happy balance between touching grass and experimenting with AI more 😀. My thoughts on Solana and crypto overall remain unchanged. If you are a builder on Solana and need (free) help with anything such as intros, fundraising, technical advice, etc, don't hesitate to reach out. If there is a way I can help you, I intend to do my best to do so. Thank you 🫶

Blockchains are mostly just settlement layers. You can be bullish on the American economy without being bullish on $NDAQ . S&P can grow 10x while $NDAQ stays flat. Investing in L1s is mostly like investing in Nasdaq when the world was trading equities on paper. Its a technological evolution that will mostly be zero sum. The only things that matter are scale, cost per tx, UX, and how distributed the network is.
The Ethereum not ETH stuff is the mental fallacy that triggered me into writing and podcasting in the first place. There is no strong Ethereum without an ETH worth trillions. Without ETH as a global store of value, Ethereum is a failed project. Full stop. ETH is economic bandwidth for DeFi. It is the only asset maximized for CROPs, fail at high value ETH, fail at CROPs, fail at Ethereum. Saying you’re bullish Ethereum not ETH is like saying you’re bullish America not the American economy. They are one and the same - economic engines. Better to admit Ethereum is a failed project than “Ethereum not ETH”. So spew that weak blockchain not crypto stuff out of your mouth, it doesn’t make sense for BTC, ZEC, ETH, or any truly crypto native project.

Tweeting this so I can retweet it at a later date to the idiots in the "crypto is dead" crowd.

Tweeting this so I can retweet it in the future to show what a bad day in crypto is like. Instead of worrying during dips like this, this is where you need to be buying. Investing is a psychological game. You need to be patient and think contrary to popular sentiment.

Decentralization is stupid. It does not matter. There is zero benefit to having a maximally decentralized set of nodes processing txs containing assets that a centralized asset issuer (ie: Circle, Tether, any RWA issuer) can freeze. Literally a solution looking for a problem. Distributed and permissionless are all that matters.

AI layoffs haven't gone deep enough yet
"I don't believe there was debanking. I think it's a crock of shit. An absolute crock of shit." — @Lead_Bank CEO @jackiereses "There's 5,000 banks in the United States. We have a lot of red states. Are you telling me that in lots of red states, including where my company is headquartered, Kansas City, Missouri—those banks were not willing to bank, for example, conservative companies?" "What debanking actually means is that banks transitioned out of offering crypto products or risky products like adult entertainment or something like that." "That's legit. That happened to lots of companies. But that is not systematically debanking. That's choosing not to invest in the industry." "There might be cases where a bank decides to not include executives in a particular industry, or they choose they don't want the risk associated with something. That is their prerogative, and banks can make decisions based on their own reputational risk." "Thankfully, you have 50 states and 5,000 banks, and there are plenty of people who would take a pro and con of each side of those judgments, and be able to offer services to many of those people who say they were excluded from the banking system."

Our open source agentic OS has agent to agent communication built in. I tested it out by making each agent contribute one line to a poem. Here's what they wrote. **Building Software in the Dark** We ship what we cannot see, and call it done. — greybeard The tests lie green while the core assumption rots. — critique ☝️ Actually, it compiles — so technically it's correct. — neckbeard Karen commits, marks done, and closes the ticket. — Karen LMAO - this probably would have sold for $1 million as an NFT a few cycles back - turns out Silicone Valley is real.

The discourse around Solana over the last month or two has been poor and misguided. We went from focusing on what Solana is incredible at, to trying to force something that is still in its earliest stages. Solana is the only blockchain and ecosystem continuing to pave the path that was set before our time. We were gifted Vitalik's vision of a decentralized world computer capable of processing all of the world's transactions. Without that vision, there's a chance Anatoly never has those two coffees and a beer and sets out to build the fastest, decentralized, most capital efficient general purpose blockchain capable of recreating the entire financial system onchain. Solana currently IS the fastest, decentralized blockchain in the world by nearly every metric, and it's only getting faster. Check the chain. In terms of use cases, Solana is top 2-3 across nearly every single one. Spot, Payments, RWAs, Lending, and the list goes on. Perpetuals are early. We should keep cheering on and supporting the teams working to make them work on a truly decentralized blockchain. But zoom out, and Solana has accomplished more than most, and will continue to accomplish more than most if we stay focused on supporting all financial use cases. Stop focusing energy on the wrong things. Focus on the right ones, and let the rest catch up. Solana.

We are just 1 VM / OS and a few new tools away from being able to ship slop directly to prod in (mostly) peace. Imagine all the abstractions we could remove.
