This should be illegal. Despicably deceptive. And such a prevalent and malicious practice that has one purpose: fool customers into consuming far more calories than they realize in order to sell more of a ridiculously unhealthy product.

Came across a situation with a PI with two students who have currently contributed almost equally to a paper. The PI insists on having a first & second author. In this day and age, are equal contribution authors still taboo?!
Why make science competitive instead of collaborative?

Though the exact version has its origin in Malaysia, Canai meaning folded and stretched properly is probably wrong. Canai (pronounced Cha-nai) refers to the city due to its Tamilian roots. It was bought over by Indian muslim laborers due to British colonialism and assimilated.
