These hydration breaks are a joke. We are in North America, not the Sahara. Soccer has been played in heat since the sport existed and nobody needed a TV timeout to survive it. Let's call it out for what it is... An opportunity to add even more commercials to sports.

A player who could be a good fit for #ctfc one to keep an eye on?
Matt Baker has decided to leave Newport County after turning down an improved contract offer from the club to pursue a new challenge, bringing his time at Rodney Parade to an end. Thank you for your commitment, leadership and service in Amber, Matt 👏 #OneClubOneCounty

I'm thinking Cheltenham for Omar Bugiel 🇱🇧 Steve Cotterill seems to like his teams to have some kind of physical presence in attacking areas, maybe not a coincidence the best team he's managed (still dream about that 14/15 Bristol City side 🤤) - had Aaron Wilbraham spearheading it. I don't think Bugiel will get you 20 goals, but he can score 10 and help facilitate another 20 because he's very physical, industrious, selfless - and more creative than given credit for (1.2 key passes per game in his last season in League Two). Presuming formation is a 4-3-3, would mean either recruiting at least one inside forward with searing pace and good finishing ability, as well as maximizing the goal threat in midfield, or switching to 4-2-3-1 and using Bugiel as a second striker to incorporate a more prolific type. Forwards tend to score more goals when they play with him, whether that's Donovan Wilson, Ali Al-Hamadi or, certainly in League Two, Matty Stevens. I think Bugiel can help make those longer passes stick in the final third with his size and power. Not just aerially, but he can sometimes be handy with those clipped passes over the midfield by using his chest and feet to trap the ball and hold off defenders, whilst having enough about him as a footballer to contribute to link-up play when he has options around him. Because he's on the older side at 32, doesn't have a high-profile career or a reputation as a goalscorer, I don't expect the League Two promotion favourites to go for Bugiel as a 1st choice CF, because they'll want more of a conventionally marquee signing. But that means clubs with middling budgets have a bit more of a shot at getting someone who's proven to consistently be part of teams that outperform expectation at this level.

Two possible transfer targets for #ctfc given the links to SC and availability?
SC signed both him and Jordan Shipley, who is another on the Vale transfer list, when at Shrewsbury. Two I'd imagine he could be interested in - both played arguably the best football of their careers for him.

Much better 2nd half and probably should have got a draw but I’m glad this season is over. Time to say good bye to some of these players and bring in better. #ctfc

I have my reservations but could it be time to bring him back to here where his career started? #ctfc

#ctfc interesting wage bills for this season. Barrow and Crawley are a major shock and serve as a watch out to our fans who think with our increased budget it will guarantee promotion next year.
This is the true figures for league 2 wages

We are so lucky to have Mike Garlick, clubs are losing huge amounts of money at all levels of the pyramid now. #ctfc
Just over half of the 92 clubs in top 4 divisions in England have published 2024/25 accounts. Only 4 are profitable: Liverpool, Bournemouth, Plymouth Argyle and Peterborough United. Average pre-tax losses: PL £31.1m, Championship £15.1m, League One £5.0m, League Two £2.6m.

#ctfc really shouldn't be where they are in the table, definitely a lot better than a lot of the teams we've played this season.

Shrewsbury fan here, you lot are probably one of the best teams to come to the meadow this season. Outbattled us in every way. Please don’t take Cotterill for granted, he’s absolutely class, and again came round and clapped us. Best of luck for the rest of the season

That was such a poor first half, allowing Barrow too much time and space whilst making far too May unforced errors. #ctfc

Burton are totally unsustainable and it probably won't be long before the bottom falls out and they become the next Macclesfield or Bury to go bust. New owners charging the club £1million in mgmt fee's is worth noting.
My Companies House update alarm has just pinged at 2am. The frightening increase in losses in lower league football continues. Burton Albion, historically one of the best run clubs in the EFL historically, has gone from a £1.3m loss to a £8.3m loss after acquisition by Nordic Football Group in June 2024. The club finished 20th in League One. 🔑 figures ⚽️Revenue £6.4m (no change) ⚽️Wages £8.2m ⬆️ 53% ⚽️Wages £122 for every £100 revenue (2024 £84) ⚽️Employees 315 ⬆️ 73 ⚽️Management charge from owners £1.3m (2024 Nil) ⚽️Amortisation £727k (⬆️ 385%) ⚽️Loss £8.3m ⚽️Player purchases £1.18m ⚽️Player sales £267k ⚽️Borrowings £10m (⬆️ 525%) Loans are from owner who wrote off £8.7m of the loan late in 2025

Would imagine there'll be plenty of League Two takers for Danny Rose, presuming he becomes available. Can see Oldham (Mellon injured), Fleetwood (Graydon gone), Barrow (lacking up top), Cheltenham (need a target man), and Bristol Rovers (Evans worked with him at Stevenage) being interested. Nine seasons at this level, teams he's been part of have an average finishing position of 8th. Four top 7 finishes, two promotions. Not a coincidence: a consummate professional with an insatiable work ethic.
