“What would you say to a young Christian who is nervous about the future?” I love @TimKellerNYC’s answer. I think about it every Easter.

When I teach on Spiritual Gifts I share: 1) God gives people as gifts (Eph 4 - people gifts APEST); 2) God gifts people with gifts (Romans 12 skill gifts); and God gifts /empowers people for a given moment (1 Cor. 12 manifestation gifts).

When you start blending the gospel with nationalism, you don’t just confuse categories—you corrupt the message. The gospel isn’t about reclaiming a country; it’s about redeeming people. This kind of distortion doesn’t stay contained. It ripples out—generation after generation—leaving behind a trail of disillusioned people who think Christianity is about moral superiority and cultural dominance instead of forgiveness and grace. Lord have mercy.

“You know, the Yankees are not a good team. I don’t care what their record is. They have a lot of wild pitches. They make a lot of mistakes in the field. They don’t run the bases very well. And if they don’t hit home runs, they don’t have a chance to win.” -Buck Martinez ❤️⚾️

The biggest ministry resource your church needs isn't money. It's the time and ability to be strategic.

It's interesting to hear American broadcasters speak about the @BlueJays and @Yankees and suggest it was an utter collapse of NY. Toronto being a good team had nothing to do with it.

It’s easy for pastors to wrongly imagine that having insight into weighty spiritual matters somehow qualifies us to instruct on all matters. But in many areas, a wise pastor spends time learning from the people of the church. Asking questions, listening, humility.
