The more I watch these football playoff games I believe the @NDFootball team the latter part of the season which kept getting better with each game would have been the NATIONAL CHAMPS - yes @Marcus_Freeman1 you would have PROUDLY been holding the championship trophy .

This is the worst selection committee we've ever had. Cannot believe Alabama didn't even drop one spot after the SEC title game blowout. Cannot believe they waited until the final reveal to flip Miami-ND. Could have done it at ANY point.

So if we get this straight - ND and usc had a 2 year extension deal set for 2026 and 2027. Games in November and October. Then the MOU information resurfaced, usc said it was a disadvantage, and blew up negotiations by offering a week 0 or nothing deal. But the MOU was already know to them and usc lied about it, which was their cover to blow up the deal. Then usc leaked this to media which one can assume was in an effort to create more pressure for schools to be outraged by the MOU and box Notre Dame out. Yeah… I don’t think this relationship is going to continue as long as Jen Cohen is at usc. What a gross thing to do to a partner.

There is a very similar analog to this situation. In 2017, No. 2 Auburn lost 28-7 to Georgia in an SEC title game rematch. It was Auburn's third loss. They dropped five spots to No. 7. Alabama at 11-1 and idle moved into the field.

Bama started the year with a 14 point loss to a team that finished 5-7 and ended the season with a non-competitive 21-point loss. I dunno man. I get the argument both ways but I’m leaning out.
