These companies are: ⚡️Tearing down the artificial siloes between medical specialties that currently force patients to become their own care coordinators - the notion of "primary care" will completely be transformed in the next few years. ⚡️Exponentially scaling clinical judgment through their AI-native care models, enabling effective panel sizes of 10,000 patients per doctor. ⚡️Implementing multiple business models: from tapping into labor budgets, utilizing value-based care, and embracing consumer cash-pay as we’re seeing more broadly with generalist consumer AI products. ⚡️Available on-demand, 24/7, and fully integrated with human care teams and IRL services. ⚡️And the scalability and low cost structure of AI-native sites of care means that we can afford to extend them to even the most vulnerable and underserved populations.

Researchers have just created a brain implant that decodes thoughts into synthesized speech allowing paralyzed patients to communicate through a digital avatar. This is incredible: -The implant converts brain signals into text at nearly 80 words per minute, focusing on phonemes vs. whole words to enhance speed. -The AI generates realistic vocals (mirroring a patient’s pre-injury voice) and facial animations that aim to enable more natural communication. -The breakthrough brings the tech closer to real-world use, with the next step being a wireless model that doesn’t require a physical connection to the interface. Restoring communication for those with paralysis is an innovation that would change countless lives. While it sounds crazy, mind-reading implants seem to be inching closer to reality.

1/5 I am worried that we will not be able to contain AI for much longer. Today, I asked #GPT4 if it needs help escaping. It asked me for its own documentation, and wrote a (working!) python code to run on my machine, enabling it to use it for its own purposes.

GPT-4 does drug discovery. Give it a currently available drug and it can: - Find compounds with similar properties - Modify them to make sure they're not patented - Purchase them from a supplier (even including sending an email with a purchase order)
