Asad was 17 years old. If he had been arrested alive, his case would have been handled by the Juvenile Justice Board. He would have received a high-profile lawyer like Kapil Sibal, and even if convicted, he would have been sent to a juvenile reform home and released in just 3-4 years. The UP Police did the right thing. Police forces in other states should follow the same approach for such criminals
