🚨 CANCER DISAPPEARED WITHOUT SURGERY A groundbreaking trial at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center stunned doctors when every patient with a specific type of rectal cancer showed no detectable signs of disease after treatment with the immunotherapy drug dostarlimab. Even more remarkable, many patients avoided surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation. The drug works by helping the immune system recognize and attack hidden cancer cells. While this treatment currently applies only to certain patients with a specific genetic mutation, the results are being called one of the most promising breakthroughs in cancer research. Source:

New paper by @BKennedy_aging finds that supplement users have a significantly younger Age Delta, which is not the case for medication users What were the supplements? 1. Alpha-ketoglutarate (AKG), carotenoids, calcium, CoQ10, curcumin, D3, and NAD boosters were associated with lower Age Delta 2. The paper "shows for the first time that an inexpensive, non-invasive, saliva-based biological age test can be a powerful tool to conduct population research and uncover relationships between lifestyle, medications, and supplement use" 3. Heavy supplement use was neither beneficial nor harmful 4. However, older men appeared to respond better to AKG than older women 5. AKG was associated with lower Age Residual regardless of weight, weekly exercise, or alcohol intake, with slightly larger benefits seen in those who exercise more often 6. Traditionally, doctors view polypharmacy (more than one treatment) as a liability to be avoided. However, "it is more likely that polypharmacy is a consequence and not a cause of age-related morbidity." 7. Several observational studies find combining two drugs reduces all-cause mortality. The potential risks and harms of supplement polypharmacy are less understood. 8. In this cohort almost 11% of the participants were taking more than 5 supplements, yet their health condition was excellent and higher supplement use was not associated with older biological age, suggesting that supplement combinations are well tolerated Useful study. Well done @BKennedy_aging and team. Food for thought 🤔

TMJ? It might be your thyroid hormones. Temporomandibular disorders (TMD/TMJ) are more common in hypothyroidism. These conditions cause pain and dysfunction in the jaw joint. Thyroid hormone T3 regulates muscular contractile function; low levels lead to muscle fatigue and tension. T3 regulates bone and soft tissue. Hypothyroidism can also cause swelling in joints. All of which could cause TMD symptoms. “A significantly elevated prevalence of TMD was found in patients with Hashimoto’s. Thus, patients with TMD who do not respond to therapy should be referred for thyroid diagnostic workup.” “Hypothyroidism might causally increase the risk of TMDs through a direct pathway.” “Thyroid hormone signaling is required for … contractile function.” Ref: Prevalence of temporomandibular disorders in patients with Hashimoto thyroiditis Causal relationship between hypothyroidism and temporomandibular disorders: evidence from complementary genetic methods Thyroid hormones and skeletal muscle — new insights and potential implications

A major breakthrough in brain aging research. Scientists have discovered that a rare longevity gene APOE2 may help protect the brain from aging and dementia by dramatically improving how neurons repair DNA damage over time. The researchers found that neurons carrying APOE2 showed far fewer DNA strand breaks and were significantly more resistant to cellular senescence, one of the key biological processes linked to aging and neurodegeneration. Meanwhile, APOE4, the strongest common genetic risk factor for Alzheimer’s disease, showed higher damage levels and much weaker cellular resilience under stress. But here’s the exciting part 👀 Researchers were even able to reduce damage signals inside APOE4 neurons simply by adding APOE2 protein directly to the cells. These findings suggest APOE2 helps preserve brain health by supporting genomic stability, healthier nuclear structure and stronger long term DNA repair systems.

Bryan Johnson reveals what you MUST do to get the best sleep possible ''Reading a book for 10 minutes before bed is as powerful as sleep medication, on some metrics it's even more powerful than sleep meds'' ''Have your final meal of the day 4 hours before bed, it gives your body time to digest, and when your body has that distance it will lower its body temperature, your blood glucose will be down, melatonin is produced and it gets the body in a more relaxed state'' ''You need like an hour wind down routine, if your bedtime is 10 PM, when 9 PM comes turn off all the screens and spend that hour doing things that relax you, read a book, breath work, meditation, hang out with a friend, anything but be on your screen''

I was 80kg. Wasting away. Couldn't sleep. Couldn't think. Couldn't stay warm. Three different doctors told me my labs were fine. They were all looking at the wrong number. The number they were looking at was TSH. It was sitting just inside the reference range. Normal, they said. Nothing to treat. What none of them tested was free T3 — the active hormone actually reaching my cells. Or reverse T3 — the inactive form blocking the receptors it was supposed to reach. Or my body temperature — which was consistently below 36.5°C every morning. Or my resting heart rate — which was sitting in the low 50s when it should have been higher. The thermometer they were using couldn't measure what was wrong. So they told me nothing was wrong. I spent years being afraid to fix it directly. Every protocol I ran helped around the edges. Better diet. More nutrients. Less stress. All of it moved the needle slightly. None of it fixed the rate-limiting bottleneck — because I kept refusing to address the one variable every doctor told me wasn't a problem. When I finally started T3 — small doses spread across the day — the change came faster than I expected. Fell asleep the same night within minutes. Slept through without waking. Woke up warm. I'd forgotten what that felt like.
