The system is letting disabled people down. But it doesnβt have to be this way.
There are a million disabled people who can and want to work in the UK. Reducing Access to Work wait times, and removing other barriers to employment, would make an enormous difference.

I can honestly say no artist has ever had their work censored @battersea_arts for taking a political stance
And our board is just brilliant in always taking the heat & backing work that is often very provocative
But I do think AD roles help set the tone for protecting artists

Culture Funding Crisis, Scotland:
This goes some way to show the level of stress Creative Scotlandβs decision to close Open Project Funding for Individuals caused. Six months of work crammed into eleven days.
Now being paid for in burn out, by people who canβt afford to rest.

Itβs not good enough to make promises that arenβt delivered in good time then try to attribute blame elsewhere.
The next trick will almost certainly be to describe restored funding as βadditionalβ when this game of cultural Hokey Cokey has been going on for nearly two years now.

They can go on making the same old commitments till the cows come home, but until they are matched with actual delivery of promised funding they are worthless. Weβve had weeks of entirely avoidable chaos, which has eroded trust & damaged relationships at the worst possible time.
