The higher level (more generalized principle) Dr. Brenner is pointing to is called "concept creep." Concept creep = (also known as semantic creep) is the process by which harm-related topics experience semantic expansion to include topics which would not have originally been envisaged to be included under that label.
"That person is such a narcissist!" It's become our go-to explanation for everything from toxic bosses to polarizing politicians. And if we aren't careful, every perspective that doesn't jibe with our own becomes "gaslighting". We often use one word to describe two very different phenomena—actual narcissistic personality patterns and our own experience of feeling dismissed or manipulated. @PsychToday psychologytoday.com/us/blog/… #narcissism #personality #psychotherapy

My 50th birthday major body health goal - to have abs at age 50. It wasn't looking good with a series of injuries that were tricky to heal. Then discovered cold plunging and good physical therapy and changed my workout and I was able to accomplish my goal. Merry Christmas 🎄

ACTION reigns supreme in your MIND. ACTION especially any ACTIONS/BEHAVIORS you do with regularity is the stimulus to UPDATE YOUR MINDS OPERATING SYSTEM. Why DOING SOMETHING repeatedly (A HABIT) holds much more weight in your MIND than THINKING ABOUT DOING SOMETHING repeatedly (Also A HABIT).

If you do not dream well during the night, your day will become a nightmare. One of my favorite books to recommend to my patients is Matthew Walker's Why We Sleep. @sleepdiplomat

If you want a better mind, remember to treat your body - including your feet - well. Musculoskeletal pain is one of the most overlooked reasons for mental suffering. Treat your muscles, tendons, and bones well = happy 🧠

The first foundational hurdle for my #ADHD patients (which included myself) is getting good CONSISTENT sleep quality 6/7 nights. The SWIMMING and COLD PLUNGES aid in building SLEEP PRESSURE.
My top 2 treatments for most patients with ADHD: -Swimming: build up to 30-45 minutes 5x-6x a week -Cold Plunging: 45 degrees F : 1 - 4 minutes 3-4x a week #ADHD

#ADHDAwareness A lot of my high functioning ADHD people suffer from the ALL or NOTHING mind pattern. This is like a having an awesome car that only has 1st gear and 6th gear and no gears in between. That can work in your teens and 20's but after 30 you will need to build in GEARS 2 - 5.

Whenever you are having imaginary angry exchanges with someone you are close to on a reoccurring basis, it's time to have a heart to heart conversation with that person.
