Recently, someone asked if I know companies that work within the core #java universe (like JDK vendors, tooling, no pure consulting) and are willing to hire people from Germany who can work from home. As I have no clue, please ping me if that matches your company.

When building @springboot applications on JDK 21 or newer Compiler warnings are produced because Mockito is self-attaching to the JVM instead of being registered as an agent explicitly. Does anyone know if there are plans to address this within the parent POM or in any other way?

After upgrading to #SpringBoot 3.4 and using the new webjars-locator-lite our internal WebJar package wasn't working any more. I wrote a short post about why that happened and what you have to do to fix that: innoq.com/en/blog/2024/11/us…

I'm sure I dreamed about annotations on record components. In other words: tried a tool, found a bug, and now I'm lost in a rabbit hole.

Does any of my @java followers know if, and how, it's possible to detect if a record component is annotated when using docs.oracle.com/en/java/java… ? I see that visitClass is called, but by that time it's too late because the record is converted to a class and the annotation is gone.

Often when scrolling through my timeline, I get a little jealous of all the folks working on #java, tooling for it, or are paid to work on frameworks. Although I know a little bit, I'm primary a user and would sometimes like to be more directly connected to the community.
