Well, future competitors in Mitzel's position could now be saved by new guidance from the USGA on MLR G-6:

Side note: No entity in golf has demonstrated a more genuine commitment to doing the right thing than the USGA. Rest of professional game should take notes as the sport tries to bounce back from the wreckage of the Tour-LIV civil war.
