Sorry, Twitter. I’ve clung on as long as I could but with the state of America today, I’m out. Catch me over on IG & Threads - itsmissteachr Not quite sure how many of my followers will find me there, but I can’t support corruption any longer.

Super sad to have missed out on attending the @CanvaEdu #canvaconnect London event on Monday due to being unwell! I’ve heard nothing but good things @jadecanvaedu and gutted I couldn’t make it!

According to @TeacherTapp, 71% of the almost 11,300 teachers surveyed believe the stress levels are unacceptable for the job - @educationgovuk and @bphillipsonMP … what does this tell you and what can you do about it?

I'm very happy to support this. Technology for learning is one thing, but the truth is that few children use it for that. Screen time, the addiction/disinhibition that comes with it and growing evidence means it's time to act.
Today I’m launching my Private Members’ Bill - the Safer Phones Bill - to protect children from the harms that can be caused by excessive screen time, and the use of social media and other apps, many of them addictive by design. 👉 saferphonesbill.co.uk

What a great guide!
If you're not sure where to start when investing in graphic novels then this is the list for you. All of these titles are fantastic and should be in schools, however budgets don't always allow for this. This list should help to guide you where your money will be best spent.

And we’re off! The call for evidence for the curriculum and assessment review is now open, and will be for 8 weeks. As @BeckyFrancis7 says, this is the chance for a national conversation. Excited to hear the diverse views, insights & expertise of all. gov.uk/government/calls-for-…

Senior leadership teams are force multipliers: effectiveness radiates from the top team throughout an organisation. Yet in a study by @CCLdotORG, two-thirds of the senior executives felt their top team was ineffective & only 20% felt that their team was high performing. Research by @BainandCompany identified five behaviour traits that the most effective top teams have in common. These traits are collective - they characterise the behaviours of the team as a whole, not those of its individual members: 1) Direction: the team collectively sets purpose, vision & strategy 2) Discipline: everyone understands the strategies, objectives & deliverables of their peers so they can work together interdependently 3) Drive: the team prepares carefully, debates constructively & is industrious & resilient over the long term 4) Dynamism: they treat change as constant & positive 5) Collaboration: the team creates the psychological safety needed to give and take feedback, listen actively, brainstorm, solve problems & hold themselves accountable: hbr.org/2024/09/teamwork-at-…. It’s that time of year in education where no matter how much of your own time you put into your job, you’ll feel like everything is never ending and there’s so much to get your head around and do. It’s difficult for many. A colleague said to me this weekend ‘why doesn’t everyone

Talk about this!?’ Honestly, I don’t know. Workload often feels most overbearing this time of year, getting to know the kids ensuring you are meeting all their needs can be intense, you feel like you’re constantly spinning plates. But you’re not alone. Let’s support each other!

Behaviour charts/cards overlook a young persons development. unidentified conditions or a lack of impulse control. The young people get labelled as "naughty" or "bad" despite all our advances in neuroscience. They only serve short-term compliance & lose effectiveness quickly🧠🌱

Have been using Canva for years, but my school account has just created it's 50th design and has been active less than a year. This academic year, I have opportunities to use Canva more than ever and I'm sure I'll be at 100 before I know it!

Our Art Week has been an absolute joy! Our child-led explorations have seen us be inspired by our original image to take it in various directions - from doodles to patterns, exploring perspective and using tech tools to manipulate the image in different ways.
