Remember when people on here said nobody plays this album outside of Twitter?
New York Knick player and NBA champion Mikal bridges was listening to Kendrick Lamar’s Mr morale & The Big Steppers on his ig live Mikal also talked about how he was depressed in 2022 and how Kendrick’s music helped him get out of that depression. “I was depressed and this fucking album got me through it, I will never forget it” ❤️

The hypocrisy is so funny because when corporations posted the mustard memes off GNX it was seen as corrupt paid industry push But when the same companies did the iceman stuff it’s seen as real recognition 😭

If this were Kendrick, Drake fans would be saying he botted it.
Drake becomes the first artist in Spotify's history to reach 100 Million monthly Listeners and not increase in Listeners the next day. He lost over 1 million listeners yesterday 👀.

This guy is why you can’t take these guys seriously. They pretend to be “Hip-Hop Heads,” but number 1, they don’t know their history, and number 2, they’re dick riders. The Documentary was HEAVILY inspired by New York sonics and even sampled vocals from “Gettin’ Money” by Junior M.A.F.I.A. At that time, you needed some proximity to NYC to even be hot on a national level, hence The Game featuring G-Unit all throughout the documentary. Kendrick’s debut album featured Jay Rock and Dr. Dre, had multiple songs shouting out his city, and was literally a concept album about him growing up in Compton, California. This is what I’m talking about, how disgusting Hip-Hop YouTube has become.

Rap doesn't always have to be Political or Conscious but the way some of you niggas talk about that type of lyrical content in a majority Black Genre is deeply concerning.

i'm extremely tired of the narrative that Kendrick's first time doing West Coast music was on GNX - To Pimp A Butterfly is a West Coast album through and through, exploring many of Cali's historic, rich musical sounds. jazz and funk are fundamental to WC music. do the knowledge on the West Coast Get Down. cats like Terrace Martin, JAZZ MUSICIANS (!) became damn near household names in part due to their work with Kendrick. he's been putting on for the West, just not in a way that fits the box in your head.
This is a joke bro. Game Went to NY and represented heavy for the West. At a time when the west coast was gone stale commercially too. He went toe to toe with the best emcees from the East coast and screamed Compton the whole way. He collaborated and helped out any artist he could from LA. More importantly, he maintained a west coast sound. There was no mistaking where the guy was from. He repped it fully. The other guy was doing records with Taylor Swift and only resorted to a regional sound when it benefited him. Linked with dudes when it benefited him. It’s night and day.

first of all i say this as no hatred towards any artist but this rat race to get forgettable #1’s by almost every artist these days makes me appreciate those 15 and 18 #1 hits of rihanna and mariah carey

I love this narrative so much. You people will say Kendrick is an industry darling because he sweeps Grammys. But then say Drake is anti industry for not submitting for Grammys but sign half a billion dollar record deals and have exclusive partnerships with dsps 🤭
Macklemore swept Kendrick in 4 hiphop categories in 2013 and Grammys didn’t matter. Kendrick opens his mouth gets 27 Grammys, now Grammys matter

Since I got a lot heat for my take earlier how about this.. A list of rappers I would love to see Kendrick work with or spotlight: Marco Plus SWAVAY Ben Reilly Reuben Vincent Chris Patrick Sideshow Westside Gunn Conway, The Machine Salimata Deante Hitchcock Mark Lux Denzel Curry Tyler, The creator Redveil Freddie Gibbs Rome Streetz Nick Grant La Reezy Partyof2 Trap Dickey OvrKast Kenny Mason Mavi Black Milk Chance The Rapper Che Noir Doechii El Cousteau Joey Bada$$ Kai Ca$h Key Glock Liv.e Mach-Hommy Smino Mick Jenkins Navy Blue Pink Siifu Ray Vaughn Remble Saba Samara Cyn Stove God Cooks Teezo touchdown Vince Staples Zelooperz Little Simz He doesn’t need to work with all these artist but these are some artists that have actually put blood sweat and tears into this craft and would benefit from him shining his light with them.

Yeah TDE business strategy at their peak was weird. Them no allowing their rappers to make mixtapes was a business and cultural miss. I can understand not wanting to have anybody on your albums. But you should’ve had to work with other rappers to make fun songs
Kendrick is adopting the TDE strategy of being super insular towards everybody and it's a mistake Drake has already captured 3 prominent YOUNG West Coast artists on Iceman (P Lo, Ovrkst, Molly Santana) he's already in the process of capturing the streamers.

I like the way Kendrick drops his albums although I'll say he should've dropped mixtapes between the years he didn't drop albums. TDE had a no mixtape policy which was a big miss. Second is valid to an extent. Him taking a break makes me not want to go too hard on him.
I think my only 2 core criticism of Kendrick are: 1. I think Kendrick is the GOAT of his generation based on the density and quality of his discography. 100% my favorite rapper of all time but it’s hard to stack him up against objective GOATS like Hov and Nas because his catalog is so much smaller than them. Obviously this can be something that can change but I want a more active Kendrick but I will say he’s atleast top 10 all time and with 4-5 more albums there’s no debate if he stays consistent with his output. 2. This is a criticism of a lot of the rappers people consider the greatest of this generation but I think Kendrick hasn’t done enough to cultivate the next generation of rappers that still keep lyricism at the forefront of their artistry but also have the versatility needed to appeal to wider audiences. There’s no reason why he’s never worked with a Smino, Mick Jenkins, SWAVAY, Marco plus, etc. The irony is a lot of artist in this lane draw some inspiration from him and it seems like for the most part he ignores this generation of rappers. Again these are my opinions doesn’t change how I feel about him or his music just some criticism I have.

I love when losers realize online bots aren’t real people and they just look like losers. Look at how he’s scaring the women then trying to laugh it off by insulting another woman. Loser spreading hate
Things got awkward on SNEAKO’s stream after his friend tried to start a “Let’s Free Chud” chant around black people😭💀

Gang culture is in Hip-Hop but Hip-Hop is NOT about gang culture Hip-Hop was built on fun and expression. Idk what gang culture is about but it seems to result in murder, prison and destruction of communities. Overall Net negative on society
Glasses Malone says HipHop is gang culture. That’s exactly why LA rap won’t be going anywhere for the foreseeable future. It’s also why YG’s new song didn’t chart, nobody wants to hear that TRASH in 2026
