On 16 June 1801, Chinna Marudhu Pandiyar issued the historic Jambudweepa Proclamation, calling upon people across Bharath to unite against British rule. Far beyond Sivaganga, it was a clarion call a free and united nation rooted in civilisational strength, collective resistance and Dharma. Please read the history behind the proclamation krishnants.substack.com/p/ja…
Today marks a historic moment when a small Samasthanam dared to challenge the mighty British Empire and called upon the people of Jambudweepa to unite in the struggle for freedom. Chinna Marudhu’s Jambudweepa Proclamation rose above localism and narrow subnational identities. It articulated a bold vision of a united, free and independent Bharat. Full video link the thread.

A grand spectacle is happening this month in the ancient Chola heritage town of Konerirajapuram, Tamil Nadu — a rare occasion that comes only six times a year. The Aani Maasam Natarajar Abhishekam. Worth making the journey if you can. To my mind, this is likely the largest ancient Natarajar Tirumeni still in active worship from the Chola era. 📍 Umamaheswarar Temple, Konerirajapuram (~20 km from Kumbakonam) PC & VC: Local Villagers #Nataraja #CholaHeritage #Konerirajapuram #Thevaram #TamilNadu

Sometimes I have to remind myself that we have a whole ministry to petroleum and this man isn’t the one heading it.

“If voted in, we’ll make ethanol optional for 10 years, rejig testing paradigm, restore NCERT text on judicial corruption, go after corrupt babus and netas hammer and tongs.” Although a lot more is the need of the day but simply add these four to your slate and spell them out loud and clear in every speech. Am no political expert, @RahulGandhi, but strongly suspect this will earn you plenty more votes than waving that stupid red book ever had. Just those four. But no, you people have to pick the most irrelevant of issues and take the most counterproductive of stance on them, and then blame people for not handing you the mandate on a platter. For once, be a serious opposition, man. Learn from your own father!

If Japan spends Rs 100 to improve Football at the grassroots, Rs 100 Goes to the grassroot. Hence they are where they are today. If India spends Rs 100 to improve Football at grassroot level, Rs 50 is taken by babus to build heated swimming pools for themselves, the next Rs 25 is taken by AIFF guys for their own luxuries, The next 20 is swallowed by state associations and whatever remains is neither enough for grass, nor roots. Forget winning, we won't even qualify for the second round of the World cup qualifiers with this system
I want to experience as an Indian, what japan has been in recent years. Till 1992, they did not make a single World Cup appearance, and since then, they havent missed one. They are a world top 20 team and named a 26 man squad entirely from players playing in Europe. They moved their 2092 plan to win the world cup forward to 2050. Us when?

trump made three fundamental mistakes on Iran. One: The decision to unilaterally withdraw the US from the JCPOA in 2018, at a time when Iran was fully compliant with the terms of the agreement. If he wanted to tighten the agreement further, he could have built on it, using American leverage. Two: The decision to launch the Israeli war on Iran in June 2025. Israel thought an initial decapitation strike would cripple the Iranian state and military -- like crippled the Egyptian air force in June 1967. It didn't happen. trump thought American bunker buster bombs would destroy Iran's nuclear programme. They couldn't. Iran cut off IAEA's access to its nuclear programme after the war-- meaning, the Iranian nuclear programme went pitch dark. Three: The decision to launch an all-out war on Iran on February 28, 2025. trump and netanyahu wanted regime change. They couldn't get it. Iran regionalised the war and took control of Hormuz, enhancing the pain on the global economy. Having failed to achieve a quick solution, trump, in order to not to get stuck in another war in West Asia, shifted his focus from meeting his objectives through force to getting a face-saving exit through talks. That's what he achieved today. These three mistakes will have far-reaching implications for West Asia's regional order. Will write about it in detail soon.

TVK Minister @CTR_Nirmalkumar says that the earlier practices in Tirupparankundram should continue. We are stressing on it. The earlier status of the temple should be restored. Immediately ! Thank You Nirmal Kumar Sir for bringing it to the attention of Muruhan Devotees! Tirupparankundram Sri Subramania Swamy Temple was part and parcel of Sri Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple, Madurai. The FRAUDs in the TN Govt and @tnhrcedept made a FALSE submission before Madras High Court and got an order to make it a separate temple. The @tnhrcedept Executive Officer was/is functioning by FRAUD in Madurai Temple from 13.12.1951. Each year 1.7 lakh people die in road accidents in India. We had 6,450 Dowry deaths in 2022, 17 deaths/ day. Another 5737 in 2024. In 2024, a farmer or Agri labourer committed suicide every hour, amounting to 10,546 deaths. May be, due to huge population, WE don't value life.

AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami is being vilified for the electoral defeat and for his unwillingness to accommodate dissidents. I have no quarrel with those who raise issues against him in the interest of the party. However, one must acknowledge that he proved a leader—and even a Chief Minister—could rise from the rank and file in a party long dominated by towering figures such as M.G. Ramachandran and Jayalalithaa. In a way, he challenged the legacy politics that dominates many regional parties in the country. Of course, he was initially chosen by V.K. Sasikala. But unlike O. Panneerselvam, who preferred to visit Jayalalithaa's memorial and sit in meditation after submitting his resignation, Palaniswami, once he gained control of the reins of power, sidelined Sasikala in no time. He has proved to be far more assertive. As things stand today, there is no one within the AIADMK who matches him as a leader. Yet, if he is to strengthen the party and broaden its appeal, he must become more democratic and accommodative in his approach.

Kāṅkālamūrti at Konerirajapuram Among the many forms of Lord Śiva found across the sacred temples of Tamil Nadu, few are as rare and thought-provoking as Kāṅkālamūrti. This beautiful sculpture at Konerirajapuram preserves one of the most profound expressions of Śaiva philosophy in stone. Carved centuries ago, the image stands with remarkable grace and composure. The serene face, elegant ornaments, and towering crown reflect the mastery of the sculptors who transformed hard granite into a living embodiment of devotion and philosophy. Despite the passage of time, the sculpture continues to radiate an extraordinary presence. Kāṅkālamūrti represents Śiva as the divine wanderer carrying the kāṅkāla (skeleton staff), a form associated with the destruction of pride and the realization of life’s impermanence. The message is timeless: worldly power, wealth, and status are fleeting, while the Supreme Truth alone endures. What is striking about this image is its balance of majesty and renunciation. Though adorned like a king, Śiva appears detached from all earthly possessions. There is neither wrath nor triumph in the expression—only the calm certainty of one who has transcended every limitation of the material world. Konerirajapuram is celebrated for its rich Chola heritage, but sculptures such as this remind us that every niche deity in these ancient shrines carries a deeper spiritual lesson. They are not merely works of art; they are visual scriptures carved in stone. Standing before this Kāṅkālamūrti, one cannot help but reflect on the fleeting nature of life and the enduring search for what is eternal. More than a thousand years after it was created, this silent stone image continues to teach, inspire, and guide. #Konerirajapuram #Kankalamurthy #IncredibleIndia #LivingHeritage

I was searching for some LED light for my house, the type of which is not available online. I needed 4 pieces. So I checked Alibaba yesterday, mailed some vendors in China, and I actually got quotations including shipping charges. They even mailed pictures of their products. Parallely, I have been also looking up lighting shops in Mumbai, and called their Google listed numbers. Not one has picked my call or bothered to return it. How can we have ease of business and make India business friendly, when it is easier and faster for me to contact a vendor in Shenzen or Guangdong than someone in Sion or Ghatkopar? There is no point in pointing fingers at China or some foreign country when the actual problem is within us.

Should we feel proud that Tata worked so hard and invested so much in a watch making factory in 1984, instead of doing something revolutionary and investing in semiconductors? They had the capital, the govt backing and countries like Japan could have helped if we had asked them nicely. But They decided to play it safe and launch watches instead, a tech that has been around forever? Considering that TSMC was founded in 1987 and Koreans too were taking baby steps, it is a nice what if scenario, where our semiconductor future could have been very different had Tata decided to take that direction instead of making watches.

Anyone who fought and won an election can ask this question? Who the heck are you? You joined TMC only in 2024.. came through the Rajya Sabha route and you are questioning people who fought and won elections.. have been with the party for years and are now disgruntled with Didi’s pathetic leadership and want to leave?

#WATCH | Delhi: On TMC party crisis, TMC RS MP Sagarika Ghose says, "... It is shameful that leaders of the All India Trinamool Congress, who won elections under the party’s banner with Mamata Banerjee’s face on posters, are now leaving the party after its defeat. Where are your principles, your ideology? You spent campaigns criticising the BJP, and now going after them for power. BJP has used money and muscle power to break parties, but the real disgrace is that senior TMC leaders — even those elected many times — surrendered their values to join BJP. Everything is under public scrutiny. They watch, they remember, and they will teach you a lesson." (Source: Self Made)
