Received a call from an executive at @IndianOilcl who acknowledged that ethanol blending is currently at 20%. When I asked why the benefits of this blending are not being passed on to consumers, the response was that the savings are offset by rising global crude oil prices. Honestly, it's quite disappointing. Even if crude prices fall to $40 or $50 in the next few years and ethanol blending increases to 60%, will we still hear the same justification? It raises genuine concerns about how consumer interests are being considered.
