One bale of cotton can produce more than 1,200 t-shirts, more than 4,000 pairs of socks, hundreds of towels, bed sheets, jeans, and other household goods. That everyday reliability starts with farmers, and farmers need modern crop protection tools to keep growing the cotton families and manufacturers depend on. Read more: modernagalliance.org/news-re…

Innovations in crop protection have vastly expanded what is possible on the farm. As MAA Executive Director Elizabeth Burns-Thompson discussed on RFD-TV’s Market Day Report Weekend, these tools help farmers adopt conservation practices and manage costs, which is especially important now at a time when families and farm operations alike are feeling pressure from higher costs. Crop protection tools have helped farmers strengthen their operations and keep moving agriculture forward for more than 50 years. See more here: rfdtv.com/farm-bill-debate-r…

While in North Carolina last week, MAA Executive Director Elizabeth Burns-Thompson had the opportunity to dive deeper and learn more about one of America’s essential crops: cotton. Cotton is one of America’s most important fiber crops, helping supply the materials used in clothing, home goods, medical supplies, and many other everyday products. Supporting American cotton means supporting the safe and effective tools farmers need to grow it. 89% of U.S. cotton acres rely on glyphosate to help manage weeds and protect yields. MAA is proud to work toward outcomes that ensure cotton farmers have access to the critical crop protection tools they need. @SRPCGA @PlainsCotton @CaliCotton

Thank you, @SecRollins, for standing up for the crop protection tools wheat growers rely on every day. America's farmers need access to science-based innovations that help them remain productive, competitive, and keep food affordable.
Strong comments from @SecRollins before @HouseAgGOP on the importance of protecting farmers’ access to essential crop protection tools. At a time when farmers are facing tight margins and growing uncertainty, it is encouraging to see USDA leadership recognize what is at stake for our food supply, national security, and rural communities.

Affordable groceries start with strong farms. As food insecurity rises and families continue feeling pressure at the checkout line, policymakers should focus on strengthening the systems that keep food available and affordable — starting with the farmers who grow it. Farmers need reliable tools and science-based certainty to protect their crops, maintain yields, and keep food on America’s tables. Read more: modernagalliance.org/news-re…

Farmers depend on crop protection tools to keep yields high and our food supply strong. Just as importantly, they depend on the EPA’s science-based process to ensure those tools are safe for farmers, consumers and the environment. An independent, thorough review benefits us all and reinforces the trust farmers and families place in our regulatory system. From bread to cereal, wheat is part of everyday life for American families. But misleading claims about the role of pesticides often leave out important context. Wheat farmers use crop protection tools to manage weeds and help keep wheat affordable and available. The importance of consistency and clarity for farmers cannot be overstated. Farmers are business owners. And as any business owner knows, regulatory uncertainty is a nightmare. That is exactly what many farmers face when access to the critical tools they depend on is unclear. Farmers show up for us every day. We must show up for them by supporting policies that ensure they have the certainty they need to succeed. Read more here: agri-pulse.com/articles/2461…

Strawberries don’t last longer because they’re “90% chemical.” They last longer because farmers use modern growing, cooling, and shipping practices to keep fresh fruit from spoiling before it reaches your kitchen. Farmers use crop protection tools responsibly to protect their crops, reduce food waste, and keep fresh fruit available for families.
Do not feed your kids strawberries. Ever wonder why its hard to get them from the garden to your plate without them rotting in 24 hours but they have no problem shipping them from California to your house while they look perfect? They are 90% chemical 10% strawberry.
