Hello dolts @FinanceBuddha Every time you spam my @WhatsApp number, I block you. And mark you as ‘Fraud’. But since you keep coming back, perhaps you should change your name to FinanceHydra. And WhatsApp should get its act together. @RBI @TRAI

Dear @airtelindia @Airtel_Presence When you send me a bill on 24 May that’s due on 3 June, why label it ‘outstanding’? Do you even know the meaning of the word? #Grammar

Before your next Uber ride, take a trip back to 1914…
I took an Uber ride today, where the driver took a wrong turn and gave me some twenty extra minutes to go into a historical wormhole It goes somewhat like this The concept of Uber became possible because of Google Maps. Google Maps works because of GPS The GPS that powers Google maps, became available for us civilians, because Ronald Reagan opened it up after the Soviets shot down an off-course Korean Air flight 1983, killing 269 people. But GPS as a concept traces its origins to John Hopkins institute where two bored researchers built something to track the Sputnik satellite. While doing that, they accidentally stumbled onto the concept that evolved into what we call, the GPS. And the Sputnik that they were tracking in Space? Well, it was able to go into Space because of the efforts of many Nazi German Rocket Engineers, who were kidnapped by the Soviets, post Nazi German defeat in WW2. They were the ones who built the rockets which launched the Sputnik into orbit. And how did the Nazis know so much about rockets? That happened because Nazis and Hitler went all in on rocket technology, when they realized that they couldn't win WW2 conventionally and they needed some extraordinary weapons to win the war. But why did they go to war in the first place? Because the Nazis and Hitler, wanted to avenge their humiliation in WW1. And Why did WW1 Start? It started because a Serb decided to assassinate the Crown Prince of Austria, Archduke Franz Ferdinand, which precipitated the entire conflict. Hope you realize, how so many things had to come together, so that in 2026, we can hail a cab to our doorstep thru a mobile phone.

We have the national flag flying all across the NCR, but without any respect: here’s one at Galleria in Gurgaon that’s torn. Another, a kilometre round the road, hasn’t lit up at night for years. Why?! @HMOIndia @cmohry @MunCorpGurugram

Katharine Hepburn, in her own words: "Once, when I was a teenager, my father and I were standing in line to buy tickets for the circus. Finally, there was only one family between us and the ticket counter. That family made a lasting impression on me. There were eight children, all under the age of 12. From the way they were dressed, you could tell they didn’t have much money, but their clothes were clean, very clean. The children were well-behaved, standing in pairs behind their parents, holding hands. They were so excited about the clowns, the animals, and all the acts they would see that night. From their excitement, you could tell they had never been to a circus before. It was going to be a highlight of their lives. The father and mother stood proudly at the front of their little group. The mother was holding her husband’s hand, looking at him as if to say, 'You’re my knight in shining armor.' He was smiling, enjoying seeing his family happy. The ticket lady asked how many tickets he wanted, and he proudly responded, 'I want eight children’s tickets and two adult tickets.' Then she announced the price. The wife let go of her husband’s hand, her head dropped, and the man’s lip began to quiver. He leaned in closer and asked, 'How much did you say?' The ticket lady repeated the price. He didn’t have enough money. How was he supposed to turn around and tell his eight kids that he couldn’t afford to take them to the circus? Seeing what was happening, my dad reached into his pocket, pulled out a $20 bill, and dropped it on the ground. We weren’t rich by any means. My father bent down, picked up the $20 bill, tapped the man on the shoulder, and said, 'Excuse me, sir, this fell out of your pocket.' The man understood what was happening. He wasn’t being handed charity, but he gratefully accepted the help in his desperate, heartbreaking, and embarrassing situation. He looked straight into my father’s eyes, took my dad’s hand in both of his, squeezed the bill tightly, and with trembling lips and a tear streaming down his cheek, he replied, 'Thank you, sir. This really means so much to me and my family.' My father and I went back to our car and drove home. The $20 my dad gave away was what we had planned to use for our own tickets. Although we didn’t see the circus that night, we felt a joy inside us that was far greater than seeing the circus. That day, I learned the true value of giving. The Giver is greater than the Receiver. If you want to be great, greater than life itself, learn to give. Love has nothing to do with what you expect to get, only with what you expect to give—everything. The importance of giving and blessing others cannot be overstated because there is always joy in giving. Learn to make someone happy through acts of giving." ~Katharine Hepburn

And now we’re speaking to computers asking the AI agents to write stuff for us!
We are the only generation that’s had to master the entire history of communication in a lifetime. Think about it: We started with handwritten letters. Then memorized landline numbers. Then wrestled paper into faxes. Then learned numeric codes for pagers. Then developed thumb calluses on Nokias. Then conquered BlackBerry scroll wheels. Now battle auto-correct on touchscreens. So don’t you DARE tell us we’re having a midlife crisis!

It’s good to run clever ads. But too clever? Why would a brand blur its name so much that one has to hunt for it? Why would it spend a fortune on an inside jacket to keep readers guessing? Perhaps I’m not seeing (literally & figuratively) things right. What say @beastoftraal?

In 1973, Alistair Maclean wrote ‘The Way to Dusty Death’. It’s 2025, Gurgaon still has potholed roads that add toxic dust to an already polluted air. This road leads from IFFCO Station to Leisure Valley. And @cmohry & @MunCorpGurugram are busy pretending to clean filthy roads.

As the decibel levels go up, so does the pollution: with firecrackers bursting all over Gurgaon and the law being flouted, a haze has cast its shroud over the city. And the AQI level is scary. Not a very happy Diwali ☹️

Dear @JM_Scindia Thought it may amuse you to know that a post office in Gurgaon (Galleria Market) doesn't stock stamps if one wants to send postcards. The staff don't even know what the rates are for international postage, and refuse to check online (not that their systems work)

Gurgaon’s roads have crumbled in today’s rain: the badly planned, still incomplete, road-widening and drain installations over the last two years have caused flooding in stretches that were unaffected until now. @cmohry, @Rao_InderjitS and @MunCorpGurugram please wake up!

Bang on. Invest in deep tech. Invest in AI. Build our own IP
Every few years, the world reminds us of our place. A threat here, a tariff there. But the message is the same: stay in your lane, India. Global powers will always bully us, unless we take our destiny in our own hands. And the only way to do that is if we collectively decide to become the world's largest most unapologetic superpower in the world. In economy, in technology, in defense, and most importantly, in ambition. There is absolutely no other way.
