India was 35th out of 41, ~85th percentile from the top. By not adjusting for the total number of participants (which grew to 180 ), the raw rank creates a false nostalgia. Being 35/41 is actually worse than being 93/180. TI’s historical data often fails to highlight this denominator bias, making developing nations look like they are in a freefall when they are actually stagnant/improving.
