Many teachers Iāve spoken to are frustrated over the talk about schools. Itās not about schools being āopenedā vs āclosedā. Itās about telling us our work is so critical that we have to go to work even if weāre close contacts, but with no details on additional safety measures.
I still think too many ppl outside of teaching donāt understand concept of having to take work home - practically and psychologically - every day. In a lot of jobs, however late you finish, you finish.
Itās Fridayā¦. Weāre all exhausted. I canāt think of too many professions where you have to take your work home and do another day of work in the evening.
I don't care how many PhDs you have, if you haven't taught a reasonably full timetable in a primary or secondary school for at least a couple of years, you cannot claim to be an expert in primary or secondary education.
Iām taking action because every public school student deserves to be taught by a fully qualified teacher who has the time and support to do the job asked of them.
