Dunno why ppl have turned on Carl Hendrick cos he’s doing work with AI. Like even if you think most education AI stuff is gash, to suggest that AI isn’t a big part of the now and future is just silly. There’s also no reason there needs to be clash between being ‘evidence informed’ or whatever the term is and being pro safe use of AI in education. Evidence is an ever evolving thing.

There is more awareness and understanding. Staff are better trained in noticing neurodivergent traits and are trauma informed.

Because it’s the only way for schools to get any money to support pupils who need it. Not that long ago some schools had very few despite high needs among pupils but now it’s a priority to get them in place

I have lots of ideas but I worry that looking at the wider issues e.g. family breakdown, reliance on screens and resulting attention issues, early institutional childcare etc will be too political/sensitive. It will stymie debate and ultimately children will suffer.

When commenting on behaviour in schools, some people seemingly have zero idea how different this is. What's possible vs impossible. How students act with an audience vs not. How much time you have as a teacher vs not. How much is happening at any one time. I could go on.

Little bit of news, first game of football for months since back injury and got through it! Original injury was 7/8 months ago so its been a long road back - hopefully ok moving forward.
