These are great questions, with my athletes I go over these and more before they even go on a visit. Athletes need to be trained to play the sport they love but have adult conversations as well
🧵 The 7 questions every family should ask a college coach on an official visit. Not the polite ones every recruit asks. The ones that actually tell you what the next four years will look like. After 35 years on both sides, these are the ones that separate the families who choose well from those who choose blind.

I believe that if your kid is young for their grade this is actually a fantastic option college recruiters don’t care about age they care about graduating year, if I had done this I would have had much better opportunities
SHOCKING: A growing number of middle school athletes — mostly boys — are intentionally repeating 8th grade to delay their start in high school, giving themselves another full year to get bigger, stronger, and faster, which in turn dramatically boosts their chances at elite high school spots, college scholarships, and massive NIL deals potentially worth millions. William La Jeunesse: “Of 8M high school students in sports only 7% will play in college.”
“On the other hand, the [likely] number one pick in this year’s NBA draft, [AJ Dybantsa], did 8th grade twice.” CRAZY IDEA: How about we let more kids be kids!

“College Football Reality 🚨 A player can make it through winter workouts… Go through all of spring ball… Compete every day… Then get told: ‘We’re moving on.’ But the transfer portal window is closed. That means some players are suddenly left with limited options, no clear landing spot, and their future up in the air after spring football is already over. One roster decision can completely change a player’s career overnight. That’s the side of college football nobody talks about. #CollegeFootball #TransferPortal #CFB #Recruiting #FootballLife #NIL#TikTok tiktok.com/t/ZP8pYMSL6/

Parents need to be more active in their children's recruiting process. Leaving it up to the athlete to "figure it out" is hurting them more than it is helping them.

Every player must do this!!! There are many people that will tell you how great you are (and most of them are on your pay roll) but who can help reform your game to make you the best! This is why we have the recruiting blueprint, @Recruit4Parents tiktok.com/t/ZP8p8HQLx/

This is true, especially with the transfer rules jr college isn’t subjected to the same rules so it’s an advantage at this point
"JUCO is for academic causalities and character concerns." The roster limits at the FBS-level changed everything. D1 caliber players with great grades will need to go the JUCO route to develop and eventually land at their level. FBS/FCS teams don't want to sign freshmen that won't make their 2-deep in the next 2 years. They don't want to waste resources on freshman who will red shirt and hit the transfer portal after 1 year. The amount of 3.5 GPA and 1200 SAT kids going to elite JUCOs would shock you. The parents and players that are unaware of this new trend still have a stigma about JUCO opportunities. They think JUCO players are dumb and the "degree you get isn't good." I'm a firm believer no one in this world cares about where you complete your general studies and undergraduate degree. Moving forward, for the majority of athletes, JUCO is the most realistic route to the FBS/FCS. It also keeps your first 2 years of college far more affordable than NAIA/D3/D2 and even the FCS at times. Those same players and parents (that still have a negative stigma of JUCO) will be the first to chase a PWO opportunity and they don't realize that the young man will not be getting developmental reps, and zero game film...When you get tired of paying for school and hit the transfer portal...you'll have no film and your football career essentially ends. Go to JUCO, get the film, and land at your level. Even if your level is NAIA, D3, D2, FCS...you'll save a significant amount of money and still get the college football experience. - RicoKnows

The grey shirt strategy may have just been eliminated
Replying to @PeteThamel
The age-based eligibility, that’s been discussed by the DI Cabinet, would give athletes a window of five years to compete in Division I starting immediately after their high school graduation or 19th birthday, whichever comes first. Next full DI Cabinet meeting is May 22, where this could potential – but not certainly – be voted on.

Spoke to a fellow Tongan who paid $4,000 to a recruiting service. I looked at his son's tape, shared his strengths, weaknesses, projected college position, & which schools to focus on. Asked him why didn't he reach out to me first & he said, "Pride.” Pride sure is expensive.

Football family be aware of what kind of camps you’re going to and the purpose for why you’re going. If you’re not ready to ball out DO NOT GO TO AN EXPOSURE CAMP or you will get exposed! If you want to learn more leave a comment below on what topic. tiktok.com/t/ZP8q1tFfH/

Do not put this in your bio, you will self select out of the majority of colleges, I have seen many kids change their mind or have other things happen and the colleges have shut the door on their recruitment already. Missions are great but you will close doors before meeting coaches.

MISSION FIRST PLAYERS… 🗣️ The number 1 question I get asked about by college coaches once they see your film and have interest in you is: “Are they a mission kid?” I would recommend putting that in your bio, or at least make it known one way or another. This is something that does impact you, especially in the portal era. Just a heads up. 👌🏻
