Our ⁦@WoodlandPK8⁩ sixth graders are finishing their cam-driven automata projects. A mix of ⁦@tinkercad⁩-designed 3D printed parts along with hand-engineered elements, controlled with ⁦@microbit_edu⁩ and coded in the new Python editor.

I'm SO impressed by the thought process here. In an amazing way, it feels like turning additive manufacturing into subtractive. Not quite the right metaphor, but it's turning the process on its head in such an innovative way.

Here's my @Raspberry_Pi Pico bot. Chassis is @tinkercad-designed, code is @micropython via @thonnyide. It moves fwd, backs up in a rando direction when sensing an obstacle, goes fwd again. Grt coding for 6-8th grades. Parts are $34, minus chassis, which could be made otherwise.
