According to reports, the aircraft flew at extremely low altitudes to avoid radar detection before striking helicopters stationed at the airfield. At least four helicopters, including Ka-52 attack helicopters, were reportedly destroyed. The base, which Russia had been using to support operations against Ukrainian positions, caught fire following the attack. Several secondary explosions were also reported at the site. If confirmed, this would mark the first deep manned air operation inside Russian territory conducted with Western-made fighter aircraft.
