▪️Rasul Jakav, a resident of Chengicherla MLR Colony under Hyderabad’s Medipally police station limits, died by suicide after struggling to arrange money for a divorce settlement in an ongoing matrimonial dispute with his wife Meghana, a resident of Alwal, whom he had married in 2024. ▪️The couple initially lived together peacefully after marriage, but frequent disputes soon emerged between them, eventually leading to separation and a dowry harassment case being filed against Rasul Jakav and his family members. ▪️Multiple reconciliation attempts were made by the family elders and relatives between the couple, but the efforts failed, after which both sides allegedly agreed to proceed with divorce through a financial settlement arrangement.i ▪️Rasul Jakav made several attempts to borrow money and arrange funds for the settlement, while also facing employment instability and increasing emotional strain linked to the divorce proceedings and financial obligations. ▪️The mounting pressure of the dowry case, inability to secure the settlement amount, financial hardship, and mental distress pushed Rasul Jakav into extreme despair, following which he took his own life, while a case has been registered and further investigation is underway.

The state government has decided to accord sanction to the ED to prosecute former DMK ministers V Senthil Balaji and Anitha Radhakrishnan based on letters seeking the state’s nod for prosecution. In Senthil Balaji’s case, the ED had taken up the predicate offence in the cash-for-jobs scam case.
