Homelessness is one of the only justice issues where you can be labeled for something you do not have, and then be punished for trying to survive it.

This is a major problem with the Democratic Party right now. Instead of starting at “what problems are young people facing,” you start at “how do we win back young voters?” It’s transactional in nature and is inauthentic. It shows the goal is for YOU to benefit, not them.

We need a system that respects the autonomy of educators to know what is best for their students and not one based on fear of standardized test results.
