The Government was right to identify school readiness as an urgent priority in today's PM's speech. We are encouraged by their commitment to raise the number of children who are ready to start school from 67% to 75%. Physical activity, and the role it plays in cognitive, social, emotional and physical development must be central to delivering this ambition.
