Made in America is even better when it’s made in Utah! I had a great visit yesterday with Kaddas Enterprises, a Utah company leading the way in animal and wildfire protection for the power utility industry. Last year, Kaddas shipped more than 500,000 products to all 50 states and 17 countries, all from right here in Utah. Utah will be stronger and more self-reliant as we bring more manufacturing into our state. I'm grateful for strong Utah companies that build great products, create good jobs, and invest in their people.

Utah is redefining what education can look like. We're investing in and expanding career and technical education opportunities in every corner of the state, connecting students with hands-on learning, industry mentors, professional certifications, college credit, and real pathways to high-demand careers. This is the future of education in Utah: career-connected, skills-focused, and built around opportunity. And we're just getting started.

Utah has been recognized by U.S. News and World Report as the best-managed state in the nation, and a big reason why is our commitment to fiscal responsibility. We're focused on building the right way, protecting taxpayers, and creating opportunities to continue cutting taxes year after year. Davis County, I invite you to vote Jon Atkin for Sheriff. I fully endorse him in this important role. Jon brings the knowledge, leadership, and innovative thinking needed to address today’s most pressing public safety challenges and serve the people of Davis County with integrity. I have come to know Jon through Utah’s veteran community, where he has demonstrated a deep commitment to service, leadership, and our constitutional principles. We need more men and women who have served our nation to remain actively engaged in public service, and Jon exemplifies those values. For these reasons and many more, I am honored to add my endorsement and support his campaign for Davis County Sheriff.

In 1869, the rails from the East and West met at Promontory Summit, creating the Transcontinental Railroad and forever establishing Utah as the Crossroads of the West. Yesterday, 157 years later, we celebrated another historic journey as a Northrop Grumman solid rocket booster for NASA’s Artemis III mission departed Utah, to travel across the country on Union Pacific rail lines on its way to help return Americans to the Moon. Growing up in Hooper on the shores of the Great Salt Lake, I could hear rockets testing across Bear River Bay. Watching space shuttle launches on television as a kid, I felt real pride knowing the boosters were built right here in Utah. There's something remarkable about the fact that in our backyard, Northrop Grumman builds the rocket boosters, NASA launches the missions, and Union Pacific helps transport these massive components to their destination. Moments like this don't happen without generations of hardworking Americans. I'm grateful for the vision and sacrifice of our forefathers and foremothers who built the railroads, industries, and communities that made opportunities like this possible. As we celebrate America’s 250th anniversary, I hope that 250 years from now, people will look back and say we helped lay the groundwork for their success. That’s how we continue to build the American Dream – not just for ourselves, but for our children, grandchildren, and generations to come.

Work brings purpose, confidence, and opportunity. That’s exactly why the mission of the Columbus Community Center matters so much. Their work creates opportunities for individuals with disabilities to live, work, and thrive in our communities. Grateful for everyone who supports this incredible organization and for the opportunity to celebrate these true heroes.

Utah is leading the nation in how we prepare students for real careers. I’ve been proud to work alongside Rep. @CandicePierucci to expand career and technical education across our state and invest in programs that connect our kids directly to real workforce needs. Programs like this are going to change the future of our state for the better. Murray City School District’s APEX Center will be a state-of-the-art healthcare academy designed to prepare high school students for high-demand careers – directly addressing critical gaps in our healthcare workforce while expanding opportunity for our kids. Located right across from Intermountain Health, students will train alongside world-class professionals, earn college credit, and graduate ready to step directly into meaningful careers. This is exactly what strong workforce partnerships and career-focused education should look like. murrayschools.org/70528?arti…

Stadler US is exactly what strong Utah leadership and partnership look like. They’ve brought together state leaders, the Salt Lake School District, and Salt Lake Community College to create one of the best high school apprenticeship opportunities anywhere in the state. Students are learning real skills, getting hands-on experience, and stepping into good-paying careers right out of high school. But what impressed me most was hearing how they’re continuing to invest in Utah families. Stadler is using the child care business tax credit sponsored by Rep. Jason Thompson to help build a child care facility with more capacity than they need themselves, helping create more child care options for other businesses and working families nearby. That’s the kind of problem-solving we need more of. These are the types of solutions that reduce childcare costs and provide more opportunities for Utah families. That’s how we do things in Utah. Businesses, schools, local communities, and state leaders working together to build opportunities and strengthen families.

Two years ago this month, I visited the Davis School District Catalyst Center for the first time and left completely blown away. Since then, I've sponsored legislation with the help of @CandicePierucci to bring those same opportunities to students across Utah. And it's working. Under the direction of Superintendent Gina Butters, Dr. Rod Belnap, and Principal @nickiatquest, Weber School District is now building something that will be the envy of the nation. Stay tuned for more. If you live in the Weber School District, I'd seriously encourage you to look into this for your kids. This is the kind of opportunity you don't want to miss.👇 facebook.com/share/p/177hpsv…

Proud to join the Davis Technical College Hard Hat Ceremony, recognizing nearly 200 new journeymen. This work isn’t easy. Every day brings a new problem to solve, and that’s what makes the work meaningful. That’s how we build Utah. We’ve made a big push to expand career and technical education because our state needs builders, fixers, and problem solvers. We’re creating more opportunities for students to step into good-paying, high-demand careers and build a strong future right here at home. Becoming a journeyman takes grit, long hours, and sticking with it when it gets hard. Utah’s future is bright, and these students are a big reason why.

Commencement should be a time of celebration, focused on honoring the hard work and achievements of students and their families. We’re grateful to the students who spoke up and to UVU for listening and responding. This decision reflects what is ultimately best for the students and helps ensure their graduation remains a positive and meaningful experience for all. ksl.com/article/51484472/sha…

This ranking isn’t about one great season. It’s about nearly two decades of consistent excellence. That kind of success doesn’t come from government. It comes from the people of Utah. Utahns who work hard, take risks, build businesses, raise families, and strengthen their communities every single day. That’s how you build success. deseret.com/politics/2026/04…

Utah continues to lead the nation in economic outlook because of the hardworking Utahns who call our state home. I'm excited to be in D.C. to celebrate Utah being named the No. 1 state in the nation for Economic Outlook for the 19th year in a row by @ALEC_states. Behind this ranking are families, small business owners, and workers who show up every day to build stronger communities and a brighter future. Our responsibility is to match that effort with policies that keep opportunity growing, support job creation, and ensure responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars.

Commencement should be a moment centered on students, their achievements, their hard work, and the families who supported them along the way. This day belongs to them. Comments from Sharron McMahon in the wake of Charlie Kirk’s murder were inappropriate and not reflective of the kind of message that brings a community together. This is not the right time or the right speaker for this year’s commencement. We urge UVU to reconsider and do what is best for its students. nypost.com/2026/04/13/us-new…

This weekend, I had the chance to be part of a great event hosted by the @UtahCollegeReps. My daughter, Ella, came with me, and the highlight of her night was spending a few minutes with Congressman @BurgessOwens, who took the time to talk with her and even let her try on his Super Bowl ring. She’s still talking about it days later. I’m grateful for the opportunity to speak and be part of such a special evening, but what stood out most was being surrounded by so many young people who care enough to show up, get involved, and stand for what they believe in. Politics doesn’t need more people pointing out problems — it needs people willing to roll up their sleeves and get to work. After this weekend, I’m more hopeful than ever about the future.
