Hey @endeavourenergy this pole has been struck by lightning twice in a two month period (this damage done in February). When you repair it, can you fit it with a lightning rod to mitigate damage to nearby properties?
ALT A power pole. The top has been blown apart by a lightning strike.
For anyone keen to keep up with the Count Binfaces, I've spruced up my 'website', at countbinface.com, with links to lots of my latest bits and bobs. Huge thanks to the brilliant @malarkey at stuffandnonsense.co.uk for the wizardry. (My starship still runs on WAP.)
Whilst out in Germany, one of our multi-car transporters has had a rock thrown through the rear screen. Fortunately no injury, but could have been a lot worse.
Please, if you're going to have children, educate them not to be like this.
Someone used my email to sign up for @webuyanycar in the U.K. and they have a terrible (or lovely if you’re in their marketing department) dark pattern in the language on their unsubscribe page. I’m really not sure what lists (if any) my email has been taken off 😒
ALT Screen grab of the page you land on after hitting unsubscribe in an email. There is a paragraph that reads “Uncheck the box if you'd prefer not to receive communications, then select the 'update preferences' button.” Directly above a box that says “Subscription preferences successfully updated.
Changes can take up to 48 hours.” There is then a checkbox with the label ‘Unsubscribe’ that is not checked and an ‘Update Preferences’ button.
Preparing for my @NDC_Conferences talk in Sydney next week. I’m getting nervous but I’m also excited to help people improve their accessibility and performance just with HTML 💪 Hope you’ll join me for some easy wins! ✨
The font-variant-numeric CSS property allows us to control alternate glyphs for things like numbers, fractions, and ordinal markers. I wrote up a post running through some examples of the options and how you can use them.

Someone help me pick a good variable font for display text.
Bonus points if it has alternates and/or ligatures. Keen for something a bit funky.
Also not too expensive for the web license pls!
I've spent way too long trying to pick one there are too many good ones.
I've relaunched variablefonts.dev where I share my love and experiments with variable fonts. It's a mix of demos, articles, lists of fonts and the occasional special font and/or foundry spotlight.
If you want to see or know something specific feel free to reach out to me.
