In #indecentplay, the company pushes through with forced smiles when told the English version of the GOD OF VENGEANCE script for Broadway is drastically different than they’d expected. Things do not end well… #mtmindecent #rehearsal

"Ich hab noch einen koffer in Berlin" is perhaps the most recognized song in #indecentplay. Pres. Reagan even quoted it in his "Tear down this wall!" speech. It represents the freedom to express oneself. INDECENT's version is a lively take on the classic: youtu.be/d-BLoI-0aFc

Local favorite, beloved teacher, & insane talent Mark Wurzelbacher music directs #MTMIndecent AND he plays accordion, ukulele, & hi-hat. AND he is an actor of the theatre troupe in the show. AND he learned accordion just for this show. #thisguy 🤩 mtmadison.wordpress.com/2020…

At its core, #IndecentPlay is a play about making a play. Polish immigrant Sholem Asch (Seth K. Hale in our production) wrote GOD OF VENGEANCE—one of the most controversial early 20th century plays—that brought the first lesbian kiss to Broadway. History: myjewishlearning.com/article…
Our incredible band: Rin Ribble, Taryn O’Neill Peterson, and Mark Wurzelbacher. These guys not only play from memory, but also play characters in #IndecentPlay… and they sounded this incredible at our first rehearsal! #lucky #grateful #mtmindecent

"INDECENT is, in part, a ghost story." We're deep into rehearsals for Pulitzer Prize-winner Paula Vogel's INDECENT—opening January 31st! What, you may ask...IS it? Here’s a great video about it from the writer, original director, and Broadway cast. youtu.be/LvHI5OuY2o4
