Today, 16 June 2026, it was a great honour for me, together with the First Lady and my delegation, to visit the Knesset, @KnessetENG the Parliament of the State of Israel. I extend my sincere appreciation to Speaker @AmirOhana and all Members of the Knesset for the warm welcome and distinguished hospitality extended to us. Signing the Knesset’s Book of Distinguished Visitors was a historic moment that reflects Somaliland’s enduring journey toward securing its rightful place in the international community. Drawing upon my experience as Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Somaliland, I believe that closer cooperation between our legislative institutions will further strengthen democracy, good governance, and parliamentary exchange. I am confident that the partnership between the Republic of Somaliland and the State of Israel will continue to grow on the foundations of mutual respect, strategic cooperation, and a shared commitment to peace, security, and prosperity. The empty rhetoric, jealousy, and warmongering threats emanating from the failed administration in Mogadishu (an authority that's not capable to govern even itself over 35 years) cannot alter the reality of the sovereign partnerships, mutual recognition, and strategic cooperation that now exist between the Republic of Somaliland and Israel. Somaliland threatens no one. We have consistently pursued peace, stability, mutual respect, and good-neighbourly relations with all countries in the region. The hostility, resentment, and inflammatory rhetoric coming from Mogadishu will neither intimidate nor deter us from advancing our national interests and international partnerships. The people of Somaliland are fully capable of defending their homeland, safeguarding their sovereignty, and protecting the democratic and peaceful state they have built through bloodshed, sacrifice, resilience, and determination.
