Are the values of these gifts we read so much about taxable according to the Income Tax Act ? Simple logic , if you give your child an immovable property the fair market value is not tax free under the Capital Gains Act (Chapter 23:01). It is a deemed sale . So many assets are exchanging hands in the name of Donations and Gifts , Cars, pieces of land etc , is the interest of ZIMRA invited to assess market value and tax the Recipients accordingly ?
