We are saddened to learn of the death of Mamie Redman this past weekend at age 90.
Mamie was a catcher for the #GrandRapidsChicks of the @AAGPBL from 1950-54. She was a consultant on set for the filming of “A League Of Their Own.”

@SABRWestMich Skeeter Barnes was a @wmwhitecaps coach in 1997 & '98.
I'll never forget when I booked him for a local sports radio show. I was a high school intern trembling to be talking to a Tiger & greeted him as "Mr. Barnes."
"Mr. Barnes is my dad. Call me Skeeter. "
