The Commission successfully intervened to redress the grievance of a complainant who approached the Commission alleging denial of maternity benefits by the respondent organization of Gautam Buddha Nagar, Uttar Pradesh. The complainant submitted that despite being on maternity leave, she was compelled to continue working from home and, upon expressing her inability to do so due to her approaching delivery date, the organization withheld her salary and denied the due maternity benefits. Through timely intervention and continuous follow-up by the Commission, the respondent organization released the pending maternity benefits for the remaining period and also provided one month’s compensation to the complainant. Under the initiative of Mission Shakti, in collaboration with the National Commission for Women (NCW), Day 11 (Batch 1) of the self-defence training programme was conducted successfully on 08.06.2026 at Ganeswarpur G.P, Gop block, Puri district with 30 participants. Trainer Sudhasmita Barik conducted sessions on defence against mouth grab and mouth choke.
