Wellbeing Wednesday πŸ’› The FIFA World Cup kicks off on Thursday and with matches being played across the USA, Mexico and Canada, many of our young people will be staying up late to watch. Sleep is one of the most powerful wellbeing tools we have. Without enough of it, emotional regulation becomes harder, concentration drops and anxiety rises. With that in mind, here are some simple ways to support your students through the next few weeks: 😴 Acknowledge it openly. If children are tired, name it without judgment. πŸŒ… Start lessons gently. A calm settling activity rather than straight into high demand tasks. πŸ’€ Encourage a siesta when they get home from school. Even 20 minutes of quiet rest before the evening kicks off can restore energy, improve mood and help them cope with a late night. πŸ’§ Stay hydrated. Tiredness and dehydration are a tough combination. πŸƒ Use movement to re-energise. A short energiser can lift a flat classroom quickly. The World Cup is a brilliant cultural moment for young people. We can hold both things at once, celebrating the excitement and supporting them to cope with the tiredness. πŸ‘‰ Reflect on how your school supports healthy habits: bit.ly/FASWS πŸ’›πŸ€πŸ§ πŸ’ͺ #WellbeingWednesday #WorldCup2026 #SleepMatters #StudentWellbeing #RISEUp #TraumaInformedPE #HealthyHabits

A Year 4 girl was upset and dysregulated, walking through the hall with a member of staff. πŸ‘§ No instruction. No prompt. She stepped to the side and started jumping. πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ Five or six jumps. Walked forward. Stopped. Jumped again. Then carried on. She had regulated herself.πŸ’› That moment says everything about what is possible when you invest in relationships first, teach young people to co-regulate, and then give them the tools and the space to use them independently. This is the Pathfield School story. A brilliant special school in North Devon supporting 192 young people with profound and severe learning difficulties and autism, bringing RISE Up to life in a way that works beautifully for their young people. Huge credit to Ben Copp and the whole team, and to Active Devon for their brilliant partnership across the Devon RISE Up programme. πŸ™ Read the full story here: πŸ‘‰ futureaction.net/post/starti… πŸ’›πŸ€πŸ§ πŸ’ͺ #DevonRISEUp #RISEUp #TraumaInformedPE #StudentWellbeing #SpecialEducation #MovementForWellbeing #EarlyIntervention

RISE - Reflect & Reimagine πŸŒ… One adult can change everything. Ian Wright's teacher, Mr Pigden, did not know the full story of what Ian was carrying at home. But he saw a young boy struggling and chose to show up for him anyway. With consistency. With care. With belief. That decision changed the entire trajectory of Ian's life. πŸ€” Reflect: Which young person in your setting is quietly waiting for someone to choose them? Who might be carrying something you cannot see, but you can sense? ✨ Reimagine: What would it look like to be someone's Mr Pigden this term? What one small act of connection could you offer this week that costs nothing but means everything? You do not need the full picture to make a difference. You need to show up. πŸ‘‰ Read the full story here: futureaction.net/post/trauma… πŸ’›πŸ€πŸ§ πŸ’ͺ #RISEReflectReimagine #EmotionallyAvailableAdults #TraumaInformedPE #StudentWellbeing #RISEUp #ConnectionBeforeCorrection

Wellbeing Wednesday πŸ’›This week's wellbeing focus: gratitude. It sounds simple. But the science behind it is powerful.πŸ™ Practising gratitude regularly can reduce anxiety, improve sleep, boost confidence and strengthen relationships. And it takes less than two minutes. I invite you to try this with your class today: πŸ’› Name one person who has helped you this week 🌟 Name one thing you are proud of yourself for 😊 Name one moment that made you smile It does not need to be big. The smallest glimmers sometimes count the most. Notice what happens to the atmosphere in the room when you do it together. πŸ‘‰ Reflect on how your school supports student wellbeing: bit.ly/FASWS πŸ’›πŸ€πŸ§ πŸ’ͺ #WellbeingWednesday #Gratitude #StudentWellbeing #CatchingGlimmers #RISEUp #TraumaInformedPE

Proud to share that Future Action has been named the UK's Leading Student Wellbeing Teacher Training Course for the 2nd consecutive year. πŸ† But the bigger story is how RISE Up is evolving. 300 schools. 45 case studies. New partnerships in Kent & Hampshire. Growing work in AP & wraparound care. Why are more schools, trusts & councils choosing wellbeing partnerships over one-off training? Mindful Monday πŸ’› Welcome back.Β  We hope you had a chance to rest, recharge and do something that filled your cup over half term. As you step back into school today, take a quiet moment before the week gathers pace. Which young people are you most looking forward to seeing? Which ones might need a gentle check in this week? Who might be coming back carrying a little more than they left with? A warm welcome at the door, a smile and a simple "really glad you're here" can make all the difference for a child returning after a break. Start with connection. Everything else follows. πŸ’› πŸ‘‰ Reflect on how your school embeds belonging and psychological safety: bit.ly/FASWS πŸ’›πŸ€πŸ§ πŸ’ͺ #MindfulMonday #WelcomeBack #StudentWellbeing #PsychologicalSafety #RISEUp #TraumaInformedPE

Brilliant to be in central London today, right by Buckingham Palace, presenting at the PTI PE Conference. πŸ’›My session brought together the theory and the practice, showcasing what trauma-informed, inclusive PE actually looks like in action. Delegates were absolutely brilliant. The quality of questions, the openness to new ideas and the genuine passion for making PE meaningful for every young person in the room was really something special. These are exactly the kind of educators who change lives. πŸ™Œ A huge thank you to Harry Smith and Natasha Simmons for the kind invitation. πŸ’›πŸ€πŸ§ πŸ’ͺ #RISEUp #TraumaInformedPE #InclusivePE #PTIConference #MovementForWellbeing

Brilliant to deliver a Staff RISE Up online webinar this afternoon for PGCE students at @BathSpaUni, focusing on teacher psychological wellbeing and how to build a sustainable and fulfilling career in education. πŸ’› Every student left with their own personalised self-care toolkit to help them return to homeostasis as often as possible, because we know that teaching is one of the most rewarding but also one of the most demanding professions there is. Colleagues were absolutely brilliant. Reflective, engaged and genuinely invested in their own wellbeing as well as that of their future pupils. Huge credit to Bath Spa University for being so proactive in equipping their students for long, successful and sustainable careers in education. This is exactly the kind of investment the profession needs. πŸ™Œ πŸ’›πŸ€πŸ§ πŸ’ͺ #TeacherWellbeing #PGCE #BathSpaUniversity #SelfCareToolkit #RISEUp #TraumaInformedPE #FutureEducators

Final day in Kent and a wonderful visit to South Avenue Primary School with the brilliant Stavros Saava, touring the school and co-creating their bespoke Kent RISE Up strategic vision and implementation plan. Three days. Five incredible schools. One shared mission to transform the mental wellbeing and life chances of young people across Kent. Every school we visited this week brought something unique, but the same thing shone through everywhere: passionate, caring educators ready to build something truly bespoke for their young people. Great to be joined by Michelle Olden from Kent Virtual School, thank you for making this programme possible. Excited to see what this community grows into. πŸ‘Š πŸ’›πŸ€πŸ§ πŸ’ͺ #KentRISEUp #RISEUp #TraumaInformedPE #StudentWellbeing #EarlyIntervention #KentVirtualSchool
