Every famous writer seems to have a guiding principle. 1. “Write like you talk.” — Paul Graham 2. “Invest in ideas.” — Josh Wolfe 3. “Make publishing a habit.” — David Perell 4. “Best story wins.” — Morgan Housel 5. “Two crappy pages a day” — Tim Ferris What’s yours?

He who suffers from an energy deficiency will view all opportunity as his last one to turn things around, for the thought of continuing beyond that moment is unbearable. And yet, life persists beyond your limits. If you don't allow it to happen, every day you'll be hurt and scarred thinking, "This is my last chance to turn things around," repeating the cycle daily.

Recently learned a version of “Attention is worship” and I think that’s it. That’s the secret I was looking for.

How do people get such videos? Did she start the video right when she saw it? Is she wearing a body cam 24x7? Is this a skit?

You show this to anyone today and they’ll relate to it I’ve realised these rabbit holes are just not worth it. Why carry another mental framework that doesn’t serve you?

Note to self: have a project. have a quest.
YOU NEED A SERIOUS PROJECT This cuts a couple different ways, in that A) choosing a well-aligned project can be jet fuel for moving your life and soul to unfold in the right direction, B) choosing a soulless or empty project will inflect your awareness w soulless nada

I’ve noticed my day to day experience is undeniably better when I’m on a quest. Learning a skill or watching a long series or running a life experiment, could be anything. Just has to feel like a quest

Conversely, if a new project doesn’t feel like a quest (but a compulsion) it almost never works out in my favour. I tried to be a LinkedIn influencer once, went to the gym because I had to look better. I saw no results, and never felt fulfilled.

If the intention is that of a quest or an experimentation, it feels light. Otherwise, it feels a bit “impure” and like it’s coming from a wound. More innocent and dumb the desire, better the chances of success and fulfilment.

Why do people say former and latter? Now I have to go back and confirm which one’s which. Just write the thing

Shared my screen on a zoom call today and didn’t ask “can you see my screen”. Just started talking.

If you're inexperienced, don't try to pretend you're not. It will fool no one and make you look ridiculous. Instead just be openly curious. This will seem natural instead of awkward, and you'll learn a lot more.
