Last year, I jotted down these notes: Installing Fedora 30/31 on a Dell XPS 13 9380 series in dual boot mode. Could be helpful to someone: gist.github.com/netsensei/7f…

Since the introduction of the new SERP, I feel that #Google yields less useful results then it used to. Maybe that's just my perception. Blurring the distinction between result and as def doesn't help either, though.

So. Using automated face recognition to prevent... Automated face recognition? #nextlevel

While cities and companies say that they can blur photos to protect people's privacy, researchers have created an AI with an "Human Aware Motion Deblurring" system that can essentially "deblur" faces in post-production. “Let’s enhance!” venturebeat.com/2020/01/22/r…

"What's the weirdest thing you've ever cataloged, Shannon???" Dirt, Karen. Landfill dirt. (Pardon me: "Loose soil from an archaeological excavation detailing a significant moment in video game history.")
I looked up items @museumofplay received from Alamogordo because I was curious to see how we cataloged the soil from the landfill. We always put a rationale for why we collected an item, this one is: "This item came to the museum from a landfill in New Mexico." Made me chuckle.

There's something strange about the recent design change to google search results, favicons and extra header text: they all look like ads, which is perhaps the point?

The 70s & 80s, now in living color on a subway platform near you. A true sign of decay, one that we worked so hard to eradicate decades ago. The taggers had plenty of time to cover this entire train, because they know there are no more consequences. #backtothefuture
