I think people are overthinking this. Here is how this is solved 1. Dario goes to White House, brings a gift of value and then listens to Trump about "no cards" (see Cook and Zelenskyy for reference) 2. US takes a % stake in Anthropic and cut of overseas sales (see Jensen & Tan) 3. Trump adjacent person(s) take a seat on Anthropic board (see Dana White, John Elkann and Charlie Songhurst) Suddenly problems disappear and also no longer supply chain issues with DOD. Business as usual
The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees. The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance. Access to all other Claude models is not affected. We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible. Read our full statement: anthropic.com/news/fable-myt…

For those running companies in California that have work-from-home policies, are you thinking about adjusting them as gas crosses $6 and we push ahead to $7? Much like COVID, I feel like we are facing a crisis, and we are not talking about it. For example, we are in the office 4 days and WFH 1 day. What about when gas crosses $7? Thoughts?

New NYT Opinion from me: The debt math of the United States only works if the rest of the world believes in it… but they’re starting not to. What does that mean for our future (and for all this debt)?

It must be amazing having a Prime Minister that knows where Nepal is located and they had elections. Someday the US will have such a leader, I hope…
I warmly congratulate the people and Government of Nepal on the successful and peaceful conduct of elections. It is heartening to see my Nepali sisters and brothers exercise their democratic rights so vibrantly. This historic milestone is a proud moment in Nepal’s democratic journey. As a close friend and neighbour, India remains steadfast in its commitment to working closely with the people of Nepal and their new Government to scale new heights of shared peace, progress and prosperity.

This part is interesting to me. So let me understand this... via NYT In a 63-page dissent, written by Justice Brett M. Kavanaugh, who was joined by Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel A. Alito Jr., the dissenters also raised concerns that the decision would lead to chaos, at least in the short term, as importers who have already paid the tariffs seek refunds. My take on this... it's bad to break a law, but if fixing the damage you are doing by breaking said law is chaotic, then we should allow you to keep breaking the law. It would be hard work to fix the damage done by breaking the law, so we can just ignore this... Is that how things work these days? I can trace this all the way to the MN shootings (Pretti and Good). We do not want to investigate and possibly prosecute people working for the government who committed crimes because that would cause chaos and problems for the government that committed these killings. Also hard work... nytimes.com/live/2026/02/20/…

Looking forward to trying OpenAI Codex today on macOS, thanks to the updated app. I tried the other day but couldn't switch between OpenAI accounts. They added a simple logout/login button, and the problems were resolved.
