It truly breaks my heart to say this... Every day now, it feels like another irreplaceable piece of Japan’s ancient heritage — our shrines and temples — is being lost to fire. The causes remain shrouded in mystery, the culprits unidentified in case after case. There have even been devastating tragedies where innocent young children lost their lives in the flames. I’ve also heard that facilities belonging to certain religions never seem to face the same fate. I’m reaching out because I genuinely wonder: how is it in your countries? If anyone has any insights, information, or suggestions that could help shed light on this or protect what remains of our sacred places, it would mean the world to me. Please...
I can’t stop crying. Now a temple in Hokkaido has burned down. Seriously, who did this? I can’t forgive it.

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration acknowledges that there are at least 250,000 illegal immigrants driving trucks in America, many of whom aren’t trained to drive the vehicles, and don’t understand English. Every death committed by an illegal immigrant trucker is a preventable one, and it’s the unnecessary deaths of Americans that made me an advocate for their families who rarely receive justice. - Adam Coleman

I’d ask them if engagement farming is big on their world too.
If I were ever abducted by Aliens, the first thing I’d ask is whether they came from a planet where people also deny science.

A video of public rapist hangings would get the message across better.
In Finland they made a dance to show migrants not to rape them "Stop don't touch me, this is my no go space"

Dear People Visiting the U.S. for the World Cup: Much ado has been made about Freddy from Germany and other visitors from Europe, Asia and elsewhere delighting in quintessential American chain dining establishments such as Buc-ees and Texas Roadhouse. Please allow me to make ten other American chain dining recommendations: 1. Go to Krispy Kreme and get a dozen Original Glazed donuts when the neon “HOT” sign is turned on in the window. 2. Go to Jersey Mike’s and order a #2 for an authentic Jersey Shore experience (“Tramps like us, baby we were born to run”), or get a #17 for an authentic South Philly experience ("Yo, Adrian!”). 3. Go to Chick-fil-A and get an Original Chicken Sandwich with Waffle Fries and a lemonade. (Don’t go on Sunday, they are closed so everybody can go to Church.) 4. Go to the Cheesecake Factory and order whatever you want, it’s the biggest menu you will ever see anywhere. They have everything. I’m not exaggerating, the menu is SOOO many pages. And get a slice of cheesecake—it’s the most decadent cheesecake imaginable, and all the many flavors are great. 5. Olive Garden. It’s not real Italian food, it’s some Americanized version of quasi-Italian food. Go for the endless breadsticks and salad. 6. Taco Bell. Order the Crunchwrap Supreme. Best at 1 a.m. while drunk. (Don’t drink and drive though—American police frown on that.) 7. Chain burger joints are contentious even here in America. Some are mostly regional: Shake Shack, Smash Burger, In-n-Out Burger, Five Guys (those are all great). Probably the best chain burger you can find everywhere in the USA is Wendy’s. Try the Pretzel Baconator with fries and a Coke. 8. Go to Dairy Queen and order a Blizzard. (It’s a dessert, get whatever flavor strikes your fancy. It’s a lot of calories.) 9. Breakfast? McDonald’s. Yeah I know you probably have McDonald’s back in your home country but there is something about a McDonald’s drive thru off an interstate highway that is quintessentially American. Egg McMuffin, hash browns and a coffee (tell them if you want cream and/or sugar, they will add it for you). 10. Buffalo Wild Wings. All the games will be on the many televisions. Get the bone-in wings with the Original Buffalo Sauce. I’m pretty sure you’ll get a lot of recommendations from other folks on this post. Thanks for enjoying our country. We love that you love it. Safe travels, CP

In Japan, when you visit a shrine or temple, you might see hundreds of small wooden plaques hanging together. They are called ema. People write their wishes on them and leave them there. Some are about love. Some are about exams. Some are about health, family, safe childbirth, or simply hoping that life gets a little better. The word ema literally means “picture horse.” A long time ago, horses were offered to the gods. But not everyone could offer a real horse, so people began offering wooden plaques with pictures of horses instead. That tradition slowly became what we see today. And yes, visitors from other countries can write them too. You do not have to be Japanese. You do not have to write perfect Japanese. You can write in English, or in your own language. A wish does not need a passport. That is what I like about ema. A shrine can look quiet from far away, but when you get closer, you realize it is full of people’s private hopes. Love. Fear. Gratitude. Desperation. Tiny dreams people did not want to say out loud. They left them there, on wood, hoping someone above would listen. A Japanese shrine is not only a place of silence. It is a place where human hope is hanging in the open.

Actually, about this: Elon once offered the UN $6 billion for World Hunger in 2021 - on the condition that the UN provided Open Source Accounting and allowed him or anyone else to track and audit exactly where the money was spent on. Which I think is a fair request considering that UN had multiple high-profile embezzlement cases such as what happened in Somalia in 2010 and Ethiopia in recent years. There's even one being actively probed right now in Sudan. UN has not have a good track record of monitoring where other people's money go to, and that's an understatement. The UN's response? They said they would at best, offer summaries and high-level category reports...which is not very helpful. It was also not going to be an open ledger, so no one outside of UN leadership could see where the money would go to. So...the offer fell through because the UN was unable to provide trackable details on where the money goes to, making auditing extremely difficult. The rest is history, which is now being actively memory-holed by you OP. Sure hate Elon that he bought Twitter, at least be fair.
people starving all around the world and this asshole has a trillion dollars btw

This should end the Parents of Karmelo Anthony… and their disgusting lies that it was an “all white jury” Gin & Juice Podcast: "Damn near half of the black people who could have been on the jury canceled themselves out because they said they couldn’t be fair and put a black man in jail— Don't say I hate white people. Don’t do that. When you go up there, and say I can be fair.” There were Three qualified Black prospective jurors who were struck during selection because they expressed difficulty with convicting a young Black man, even if he was guilty. Exactly as I said yesterday. There were 6 minorities total on the full 18-person panel (12 jurors 6 alternates) • the jury that decided his sons fate included Asian, Hispanic, and Middle Eastern/Indian jurors. And Karmelo even requested the jury sentence him instead of the judge. And finally, the majority of witnesses who spoke against Karmelo were young black student’s. Karmelo Anthony’s parents should apologize to the world for lying. They have done their son so damn dirty… rumble.com/v7b750s-gin-and-j…
What a lying sack of shit… 💩 🚨 Karmelo Anthony’s father pushes a huge lie on National Television — “The jury for my son was an All White Jury” These are the facts: There were 6 minorities total on the full 18-person panel (12 jurors 6 alternates) • the jury that decided his sons fate included Asian, Hispanic, and Middle Eastern/Indian jurors. There were also Three qualified Black prospective jurors who were struck during selection because they expressed difficulty with convicting a young Black man, even if he was guilty. And Karmelo even requested the jury sentence him instead of the judge. The fact that his father is playing this card is sad, and this is the exact kind of piss poor parenting that results in what happened. rumble.com/v7b5ib6-karmelo-a…

I lived in California for a year. I asked a store manager why people just walk out with stuff. He said: under $950, it's a misdemeanor. Police usually don't come. I wrote it in my notebook. In Japan, $950 of stolen goods is treated seriously. The police actually come. Why did California voters decide $950 of stolen goods is not a crime worth arresting for? Genuine question. I'm not American, so maybe I'm missing something obvious.

I grew up hating white people, and the scary part is that millions of young Black men are being brainwashed into that exact same mindset today. The education system feeds Black kids a steady diet of historical resentment until their undeveloped brains start picturing every single white person as the enemy. Blaming the white man for modern community struggles is a trap that keeps people broke and angry.

USA. My neighbor's mailbox has a small red flag, and yesterday I watched him raise it like a banner before battle. I asked what he was declaring. "Outgoing mail," he said. "Flag up means the mailman takes it." I need you to understand what this means, because my neighbor clearly did not. You place your letter in the box. You raise the flag. And a sworn officer of the UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT, seeing your signal, stops at your gate and carries your words anywhere in the nation. The flag is a SUMMONS. Every house on this street has the power to summon the federal government with one finger, and they use it for birthday cards. In Japan, we carry our letters to the post office, humbly, as petitioners. Here, the post office comes to YOU, because you raised a tiny flag. The samurai of my province summoned messengers with seals and lanterns and rank. You people do it with a red stick, while in pajamas. I tested it. Of course I tested it. I wrote to my brother in Japan, placed the letter in the box, raised the flag, and stood watch at the window. Three hours. I made tea. I regret nothing. The carrier arrived. Saw the flag. Stopped. TOOK THE LETTER. Lowered the flag — closing the covenant — and drove on, as if the miracle were a Tuesday, which, to her, it was. It works, America. The signal works. It costs nothing. The republic ANSWERS. A man does not ask the republic to notice him. He raises the flag, and is noticed. My neighbor says I "send a lot of mail now." Correct. I have written to my brother, two museums, and the company that makes my preferred tea, who replied with coupons and kind words. The flag has been up four times this week. A man with a summoning flag and nothing to send will find something worth sending. That is not an excuse. That is a philosophy. The flag is up right now, America. What did I send? Wouldn't YOU like to know. It is dorayaki. For Devin at the drugstore. He will not understand, and he will eat them anyway.
