Thank you to everyone who attended my U.S. Service Academy Information Night, including our academy representatives and the Chairman of my Service Academy Selection Committee, Captain Martin, for sharing their time, insight, and experiences. One of the greatest honors of serving in Congress is getting to nominate exceptional young Americans to our nation’s service academies. I am always inspired by the students who step forward to serve something greater than themselves. I wish all of this year’s applicants the very best. For more information about the nomination process, please contact my Staten Island District Office at (718) 568-2870 🇺🇸

A Wisconsin beagle breeding and research facility that operated for nearly six decades will permanently close after reaching an agreement with a Florida-based animal rescue group to relocate its remaining 475 dogs. HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. hailed the move as a “major win for animal welfare” in a post on X Monday. Watch OAN on Spectrum and YouTube TV today for more updates.

THREAD: Thanks to the leadership of @POTUS and @SecKennedy, 475 beagles are being freed from a breeding facility that supplied dogs for animal testing.

With over 20,000 beagles, the last remaining mass breeding facility for beagles used in inhumane animal experiments is Marshall Farms in New York. SHUT. IT. DOWN. @USDA @HHSGov @SecKennedy @SecRollins @LaraLeaTrump @NickLangworthy @beaglefreedom @WhiteCoatWaste @peta @humaneactfund
Today @USDA @SecRollins and I secured a major win for animal welfare. Ridglan Farms will transfer its remaining 475 beagles out of a research breeding facility and into the care of a no-kill rescue, where they can begin the path to adoption. Thank you, @LaraLeaTrump, for championing this issue. We are also launching a new @NIH office, ORIVA, to speed the transition away from animal testing and toward modern, human-based science. We will keep fighting for humane treatment of animals, better science, and accountability.

Today, I joined @USChamber and the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce for a roundtable with small business owners to discuss how the Working Families Tax Cuts we passed supported small businesses & their employees. Together we prevented the largest tax hike in history, extended lower tax rates and greater deductions and expanded tax relief for our job creators, entrepreneurs & senior citizens working families.

The Wisconsin facility that bred beagles for laboratory testing will close its operations, and every remaining dog is expected to be transferred to animal welfare organizations for rehabilitation, fostering, and adoption. More than 1,600 dogs have already been removed from Ridglan. The remaining dogs are scheduled to leave in the coming weeks, marking the end of one of the nation's most notorious laboratory-animal breeding operations. This is a landmark victory for animal welfare and a testament to the power of advocacy, legal action, public pressure, and direct negotiations. For thousands of beagles who were born into the laboratory supply pipeline, a new chapter is beginning. Ridglan is closing. The dogs are getting out. And there is still more work ahead to end dog testing nationwide.
