We need to start normalizing that software engineering can be a 9-to-5 job. It's ok to not live, eat, and breathe tech 24/7. It's ok to be in tech bc it's a lucrative job that pays the bills. You don't need to be passionate about tech to be in tech.
It was so much fun to chat about Core Web Vitals and Interaction to Next Paint with @nomadtechie, @nicknisi, and @rick_viscomi! If you're interested in Core Web Vitals, definitely give it a listen!
This code is likely a very good read yโall! Iโm sure itโs mountains more streamlined than npmโs legacy codebase. Very eager to dig in! Still not clear on the business model though, is this just a value add for the deno ecosystem, or is there some direct revenue stream?

We need volunteers to test the new Node.js Website ๐
Feel free to simply go to beta-node-js-org.vercel.app/โฆ and give feedback on the Node.js Website GitHub repository.
Any feedback is extremely appreciated!
Super excited to see this work land - congrats! What an incredible & monumental effort to redesign & rehaul such a hugely trafficked website with so much legacy code. Some epic blog posts coming โ the new site is pretty hot yโall. Strong 2024 vibes. Gradients anyone? ๐ ๐๐ข๐
This is it. The culmination of 2 years of work on the Node.js project led to this PR. Effectively once this gets merged, the website redesign will be effectively enabled.
Feel free to see the Vercel previews from the PR whilst it's not merged.

I still can't believe it, but I'm the newest member of the @nodejs Technical Steering Committee. It's a deep honor and I'll do my best to keep Node shine!
Hey friends โ Iโm putting a list of @nodejs community advocates together for the project. Iโd love to connect with folks from around the world who you think fall into this category. Who are folks who give talks, write blog posts, do community outreach, teach, etc? DM/tag away ๐
Ok y'all - I invited Dan & Eric for a deep dive on React Server Components. I was the skeptic, Eric was my counter, & Dan was on the implementors side - the result was an extremely thoughtful, balanced, & nuanced discussion on RSCs. I learned a ton and I'm sure you will too! ๐ฅ
Oh and ummmm, did mention that this was literally a 2 hour discussion, LOL. Lordy, idk where time went, it was like a hallway track conversation for 3. Thanks again @dan_abramov2 and @ericclemmons -- this is was incredibly fun, and educational!
Excited about the JS AsyncContext proposal which introduces an analog for threadlocal in JavaScript's event loop-based concurrency model. While I was at Meta we had some big use cases which would've benefited from this proposal. @littledan
Ahhhh friends, Iโm going through a personal renaissance on multiple levels. And for the renaissance thatโs most relevant hereโฆ.my God, what a time to be writing software for the web. Finally caught up on this talk, & holy smokesโฆ

Quite a few people have asked me what HTTP client I recommend for Node.js.
In concert with my frriend @ArrowoodTech, we have prepared a benchmark for you to decide.
Apple is going to poison the one victory Epic secured in their lawsuit so bad nobody would ever think to use it. They want a 27%(!!!!) commission on any link from an app to a website, reporting every few weeks, AND the right to audit your books?? Insane.
