Words can't describe how powerful it is to work with so many disabled leaders during #WeekWithoutDriving when you are so accustomed to being the only disabled person in the room. Getting to end Day 5 by stumbling into "Please Touch" was so magical I could cry

We gathered on the steps of City Hall yesterday to speak out against the Mayor's proposed transportation levy which fails to address Seattle's safety and accessibility needs. king5.com/video/news/local/s…
Seattle needs a levy that puts us on track to meet our city’s climate, safety, and equity goals. The draft levy proposal falls short.
Join us in asking the city to put our money where our values and goals are, and improve the draft transportation levy! actionnetwork.org/letters/we…

A sustainable, equitable transportation system benefits everyone while a back-to-basics transportation plan will continue to leave communities and our climate behind. Tell @MayorofSeattle & @SeattleCouncil we need a levy that invests in our entire city!

Sidewalks are about a city's livability, not just accessibility. "Just like a new road is fun to drive on in a car, a new sidewalk can also encourage everybody to walk around and get out more." Check out Dylan's Seattle sidewalk story
Lessons learned from a new crosswalk that Lake City advocates have been asking for for years: 1. Advocacy works 2. We shouldn't have to fight for crosswalk after crosswalk 3. We need a huge shift in the next transportation levy if we want any change
Thank @RealChangeNews & vendors for letting me join your organizing meeting and sharing your transit stories! Whether it's sidewalks, streetcars, ebike access or benches, the next levy needs to focus on a transportation system for people not cars @non_drivers
Thank you Cecelia for coming to this Tuesday's Vendor Organizing Committee meeting to talk about @non_drivers, the transportation levy & what barriers vendors face moving around the city.
Such a productive conversation & many vendors left so excited about getting more involved!

With a new ordinance approved earlier this month, the City of Seattle is beginning to address Seattle’s lack of adequate sidewalks.
Advocates from @non_drivers shared with @GuyOron
why it’s not enough to solve Seattle’s sidewalk problem.

ICYMI: Yesterday, @SeattleCouncil unanimously passed my Complete Streets ordinance, which will require the SDOT to build new and repair existing sidewalks throughout the city.
This is a long overdue investment in our communities.
