it’s very dangerous when ariana fans say ‘ari’s body is healthy & normal🥹’ because it becomes a standard that influences girls who idolize ariana grande into thinking that’s how they’re “normal and healthy body” is SUPPOSED to look, even tho it’s not. at all.
Traded this beautiful era, makeup, hairtstyles, outfit, confidence, aura and everything else that made her the household name she is just so she could play GLINDA. Now she’s mentally stuck as her and we lost this baddie to the now adult baby persona she has
apparently we're at the point where we can watch one of the biggest artists of our generation slowly die in real time, but we're not supposed to say anything bc that would be body-shaming, even though there is nothing body-positive whatsoever about the illness she's suffering from or the media continuing to prop her up as beautiful and aspirational
Every time I see her I think of Karen Carpenter and how one of the most beautiful voices in music died so young because no one intervened, no matter how thin or sickly she became from her ED.
not to add to the discourse, but do ariana grande stan’s who defend her weight understand it doesn’t come from shaming it comes from concern? regardless of if it’s an ED, chronic illness, ect. there is no way that low of a weight is healthy on her heart. i rlly concerned for her
“I would've defended it to anyone who said, "I'm concerned about you."”
“You don't ever say to yourself,
"Look, I've got an eating disorder," but you know you're, like,
making a list of everything you put”
If I were pregnant and informed that my fetus had Down syndrome I would absolutely abort. No amount of social media romanticizing of profound disability would change my mind. Contrary to popular opinion, you need more than love to care for a disabled child.
