Variety reports that “The Voice of Hind Rajab” stunned the Venice Film Festival with a 22-minute standing ovation, the longest of the festival, amid tears, Palestinian flags, and chants of “Free Palestine.”
Directed by Kaouther Ben Hania, the film tells the true story of 5-year-old Hind Rajab, killed by Israeli forces in Gaza in 2024. Executive producers Joaquin Phoenix and Rooney Mara joined the team on the red carpet. Critics see it as a frontrunner for the Golden Lion, Venice’s top prize for best film.
