As a future health care provider, I know I will have to deal with people who think they are beyond being sick and will not need a #vaccine, be it for flu, chicken box, or even #MMR. This will be a unique challenge that the cudgel of knowledge brought down will not solve.

Lived in Durham for a couple of years. As a hockey fan, this is my experience. It’s not just pockets, either. It is everywhere. Impressive in a crowded professional and college market—which includes Indy Racing!
Welcoming, too. To be expected in the South, I’m told.

“The city’s always alive for us, to be honest. It’s not just the playoffs. Throughout the whole season, they’ve been behind us. They’re called the Caniacs for a reason.
It’s definitely cool to see the extra boost, for sure, and all the watch parties around town, and what you see on social media. It’s to be expected here, because I know they love hockey, and people from here know that. I don’t know if people from outside [of here] do, but people from here get it.”

All #Canucks fans knew him. Every one of them loved him. Sad day for all who knew him and heartbreaking for those closest to him.
He made it fun, even when it wasn’t—because it was bad or too stressful. He found the joy in it all. Missed when he retired, missed even more now.

ALT It is with profound sadness we share the news of the sudden passing of John Garrett, a beloved colleague, friend, and one of the most familiar voices in Canadian hockey. “Cheech” was a legend. His warmth, humour, and genuine love for the game endeared him to fans and colleagues alike. He brought insight, authenticity, and heart to every broadcast. He will be remembered not only for his remarkable career, but for the kindness and joy he shared with everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. John will be missed immensely. Our deepest condolences are with his family and loved ones.

I disagree with Frank on his tweet and is flimsy defense of it, but I do appreciate the stance and the willingness to show up for it. Where things have been falling apart is closing down conversations. He showed up. I hope he does next week, too.
